Default noob problems with Macy CC Angel

Thanks in advance for your help. I have a Macy CC Angel I just aquired.
I've searched the forums for others with the same problem without luck.
When I power up my "Angel" all I get is a "0" blinking in the credit display and I hear the solenoid energize thats it. No music, no lights, nothing else.

I've check all the buttons and switches for leds on motherboard and all are working fine.
I've tried the master reset. Things to note: when reset switch is up I get a blinking "5" in the pay display. I am able to make the "5" change but it doesn't seem to be saving any changes. It's difficult to change with it blinking. I get no reaction to holding down the spin joystick or after I turn off the reset switch. Nothing seemed to happen. All the while doing the reset the coin solenoid stays energized.

I also notice that at the top of the mother board LE26 is lit but blinks off about every 5 seconds.

I've reseated every connector, cleaned the hopper, checked all the fuses and verified that the coin mech sensors are reading on the motherboard.

When I insert tokens only about every 10th token will result in a very short bleep sound and a quick flash of reel lights 2 and 3. The other 90% of tokens just go straight into the hopper with no reaction. While watching the motherboard while inserting the tokens I see that each token does register. LE7 flashes off and LE10 and LE11 flash on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi and welcome to PachiTalk.

Could a Mod move this to the Pachislo Tech support tickets?

Your Pachi is a 1996 model. Universal took over MACY.

Here is a "Tube" video if it. :

That was put up by a Member N8IWS but he has not been on since February of 2010. You might want to try to PM him. :

You said reset switch. Is it an actual switch or a key switch? The key switch might have been replaced with a regular switch if the prior owner did not have a key or this older Pachi might have come with a regular switch.

The magnet should not be energized during a reset. Are you sure that you are doing the procedure correctly? :

1 Machine turned off, turn the reset switch on.

    2 Turn on the machine.

3 Set your odds, press and hold spin knob for 5 seconds and release.

4 With the machine still on, turn off the reset switch.

When the Token does flash the reels and LED's does the credit
counter on the door increase in value?

Pics of the inside of the Pachi would be a Big help.

Since a Token once in awhile does register I would recommend removing the Token Acceptor and check that the coin path is clean and there are no dust Bunnies around the sensors.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have followed the reset procedure.
Let me update what I have found.
I found all but three bulbs are bad. I moved two of the good ones to the "Insert Metal" and "1 Metal" spot and now those lights flash.
Now the big find... After noticing that when I can get a coin to register and I quickly hit spin the middle reel does not spin only the reels 1 and 3. I then switched the connectors on the reels between reels 2 and 3. I powered the unit and started inserting tokens. When 1 registred (and no the credit does not increase) I hit spin and reels 1 and 2 started spining at that point I seen and smelled electronic smoke. I quickly shut it down. I found two transistors on the motherboard smoked and two other components also smoked,
I'm thinking reel two has some kind of short in it maybe the motor and smoked the motherboard.
It seems to me that I now have three different problems:
    Smoked motherboard
    Bad reel #2
    Coin mech not registering.
I've cleaned the coin mech three different times and verified the sensors are working.
Lucky for me I have no money in the machine.
    Thanks for your help.
