My son and I went to the Pinball Expo today and had a great time!!

I took some photos (as requested); below are a few of the machines we played. There were over 150 machines on site and all were set for free play. Unfortunately, a few were out of order (including the Star Wars machine I really wanted to play ). There were several machines I REALLY enjoyed a lot!! They were:

    1993 Williams "Indiana Jones" http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?gid=1267
    1997 Williams "Midevil Madness" http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?gid=4032
    1958 Williams "Casino" http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=463

The Batman "Dark Night" and Spiderman machines get an honorable mention!!

Here are a few more of the machines we liked. There was one "coffee table" pinball game (not working), as well as another table top pinball that was a two player game and was AWESOME!! Each player plays half of the table and there is a gate in between that allows you to shoot the ball over to your opponents side. Once the ball goes through the gate, another ball is added to your side. It gets really challenging when there are 2, 3, even four balls on your side of the table and you are trying to get them over to your opponets side.

Here are some of the older machines that were there. Most were available for play. To me, there is just something about the sound of the ball rolling on the wood, as well as the sound of the relays and bells that really made playing a pinball enjoyable. If I could only have one pinball in my life, I think it would be a machine made in the 1950's.

Finally, I found this vendor who makes custom LED lights that fit into standard bulb sockets. I thought this might be an option for anyone who wanted to convert their vintage Pachinko lights over to LED's quickly and easily.

    Finally made it Sunday afternoon!

It was pretty cool. Really crowded but most people were courtious about letting you play next if your were waiting. Actually had many moments when I had a machine to myself for 15 to 20 minutes at a time with no one waiting at all.

I think the machine that got my adrenaline up the most was The Simpsons machine. Man, that machine is intense! Great fun! Addams Family was good but alot of people were waiting for a chance at it, as was Twilight Zone of course.

Wheel of Fortune was pretty cool. Had that one for quite awhile. Another I had for awhile and was pretty heart pumping was Attack from Mars. Also played the classics like KISS, Black Knight, Centaur, and quite of few wedge heads. I think I played all of those that were operational. I noticed in the few hours I was there that some of the machines were getting unplugged as if they had a problem and it was time to shut them off.

Time Fantasy was a suprising hit. The sound bytes sounded like Defender and there was usually someone playing it most of the time.

It was great way to spend a few hours. I'll be back next year!

Sorry, no pics. I figured Jeff covered that pretty well.

Thanks for the pics. I'm with you on the sounds of the older machines. Those old woodrails are like pieces of art- beautiful just to look at.
