    Default card reader dongle

I saw a card reader emulator dongle on Ebay. What does it do? I got the impression that it allows me to use one of the buttons one the front to add balls to the play tray from the ball hopper. What else does it do? What do they generally cost? What other kinds of dongles are there?

The card reader dongle is made by one of the members here. They replace the basic dongle in the back of CR machines enabling them to be used.

The easiest way of seeing what the dongle is for and how to use it is to look at the videos of it in action on YouTube.

BTW the eBay seller is an authorized stockist for the Rev.2 dongles, and should be quite price competitive for buyers in the US. I'll still be happy to provide any extra support needed for these dongles, though you should contact the seller first.

I agree...it makes owning pachinkos much more fun. I bought two off Dave and I couldn't be happier.

If you have a modern machine wall mounted or boxed in. You can't live without one. Especially if you have a large ball tank above the machine.

I'm gonna have to get one, it seems a shame to let those 2 buttons on the front go to waste. It might also explain that "mystery display" that always flashes 00 !

I'm afraid it won't. The credit display is wired directly to the card reader interface connector, with no other electronics in between. So it can't light up unless a dongle (or a real card reader unit) is connected.

If you've got another display on the playfield that lights up, flashes, etc, then it's got nothing to do with the dongle.

I got mine in the mail a few days ago! It is way cool! There are options I'll never use, but more than I expected! I have adjusted the ball loan to 50 balls at a time, then throttled back to 25 which seems more sensible. I also dimmed the display because the instructions said brighter makes the dongle run hotter. All in all, very satisfied!Just making the 2 buttons on the front do something is a good reason to buy one. This is probably the only modern I'll own, as I'm partial to vintage; and always looking for something leaning towards antique. But, if I get another modern, I will be buying another; it is simply a must have! THANKS DAVEROB for all the hard work you've put into this device!
