Default Found probably the best way to power a machine

I have found probably the best way to power a machine. Mainly found Panasonic uses a lot of 9v and 6v power supplies for their radios, dvd players, stereos, etc. The best way I have found is to go to a local thrift store to find the power supplies they usually cost about $1. Every day they get a ton of electronics dropped off to them and with them come a lot of extra chargers and power supplies.
To get the power supply to hook up to your machine the first thing you would commonly do is probably cut off the adapter at the end and then feed it up to the circuit board at the top. However, there is a better way to do it, go to Radio Shack or your local electronics store and try to buy the adapter for the power supply. Then solder the adapter to some wire and then put the end through the studs on you machine. (see image) this makes it so the power supply could be used on numerous machines and it makes it easy to change between them. Also if it goes to your phone or something you could still use it for that. (I wouldn't staple the wire to the frame as seen in the picture because you can't open the frame.)

To light a Vintage Pachinko I go this route : 1 each radio shack 270-414 "AAA" Enclosed 2 ea AAA Battery Holder @ $1.99 and 1each radio shack 276-0017 2ea 5mm- High Brightness (7000mcd) 3.3 -3.6 vdc max White LEDs @ $1.99 these lights are easy to solder in place of the incandescent lamps and since the LED's draw so little amps the 2 each AAA batteries are more than enough power for a very Looooooooooong time .
When things don't go right the 1st time , Step back ,Take a break and come back renewed. RGS

I use 9v portable telephone power supplies. Have them all plugged into a nine plug power strip and the power strip is plugged into a remote control device so I can turn them on with a push of a button.

I have a heavy duty adjustable power supply that can run the lights on a dozen or so vintage machines at the same time and will when I rearange things so they can all be set up at the same time. but what I do eight now is have short leads coming off the machine and clips on the wires from the power supply so I just clip it to the one I am playing at the time and it only takes 30 seconds to switch it to another machine when I want to play another one

There are a lot of different ways on how to wire the lights. But now that i'm thinking about it the easiest way is to find the power supply and then cut the end off and tin them. It probably is the best and cheapes way because it makes it so you don't have to go and buy all of those adapters and the extra wire. Thanks for the input everybody.

I went with 2 9V batteries wired in SERIES...to give me 18V (when I measured the output of the transformer that was already in my machime, it was putting out about 14V).

Nice, bright lights...and they last quite a while.

I like the look of the Pachniko mounted on the wall with no wires.

I just use one 9V battery. I only have one vintage machine, and it just has 2 bulbs, so it works great for that, and it's plenty bright enough. Lasts almost forever, too... would probably need to change the battery based on age alone.
