Thumbs up Only for New/First Buyers/owners Pachinko. Special FAQ topic.

I have some interest in pachinko (some models i perhaps want buy if can, but first some question to all Pachinko owners.

    1. If there is NEW Pachinko out in Japan and you want get one. How can you get the new Pachinko (for example ordering from manufacturer website or from one of the importeurs / special vendors). Can we buy one new model? Do they ship outside Japan or not? Or do you call some friends in Japan to get it first? Possible or impossible?
How long should they produce new Pachinkos? For some months, at-once-production- batch or only on order?

    2. For old (modern) Pachiko's which are out of interest or just old, where can you find them before they're disassembled or recycled to parts? Are they on Ebay or only by special vendors?

    3. Which websites / vendors are good to find / buy the Pachinko? You can group them in:
3a. New Pachinko's (manufacturer / special vendors in Japan)
3b. Used Pachinko's (just removed from Pachinko halls, still in Japan)
3c. Used Pachinko's specially imported (Imported to another countries, to another vendors. Outside Japan!)
3d. Used Pachinko's owned by normal people (Ebay, marketplace sites, some vendors)

    Now i have price questions:
    A. Which price has the new Pachinko average?
    B. Which price has used / removed Pachinko average? (vendors in Japan)
    C. Which price has pre-owned Pachinko (from Ebay / importers / venders outside Japan)

S1. What is the average size of whole Pachino case and what is the shipping weight?
S2. If you order it from Japan, what is the best postage service for Pachinko to import one? What are the costs average? Not only for America, but also for Europe shipping.

Please make it more clear for new / first time users. Then we can see what the chances are and what it may costs total for us. Especially for new pachinkos in Japan is mostly more work to get one.
    Thank you very much.
If there is already special FAQ, i'm sorry. Otherwise, please answer many questions if you can! Make the topic/thread useful.

I have never bought a pachinko directly from Japan, but several members here have, I am sure you will get some feedback. It is my understanding, that we cannot order NEW machines from any manufacturing company. These machines are produced strictly for the gaming industry and we are an aftermarket group.

Most members here find their machines on ebay, craigslist and Yahoo Japan (?). At one time, their were many vendors to be found, but it seems like most of them have folded for one reason or another. If you find a machine you like on the Japanese auction site, you will need assistance from a buying agent in Japan. They typically get a fee for their services and then the shipping on top of that can get extremely pricey depending on the method of shipping you choose. Other members will be able to let you know about the costs involved.

Well I can answer one or two of these.

#2: Ebay, vendors, craigslist and even PachiTalk are all great places to look for machines. #3c. I own CustomPachinko.com and we are a US based company who imports them directly and also sells internationally. #3 - a good place if you are just looking for or browsing is 777.nifty.com - they have a huge number of machines with odds and lots of other information.

    C. For our prices they normally run from $350 to up to around $800 for the ultra-modern machines that have only been released within a year or two (the fastest we can normally get them in is usually a few months after release, but that is when they are the most expensive). We also ship internationally which usually ranges from 300-500 USD for air per machine or we sometimes do by sea for much less, but mostly only for larger orders.

S1. The cases are about 33x22x12 inches, but the depth usually varies (about 84x56x30cm). The shipping weight is usually about 70-80lbs and our shipping documents usually list them at 35 Kg, but if you add balls that can raise it by quite a bit.

That's all I've got for now. I hope someone else can fill in the rest!

Good answers! Why i started the FAQ for new users is because i have not seen stickied thread on forum (here for modern machines) to learn the new users what they can and what they cannot do.

For example i want get Ranma 1/2 pachinko (i'm fan of Rumiko Takahashi). But because it's new, the question is only when they are "available" for another buyers after used in game industry, or some people have special contacts with game industry. I know Pachitalk is big forum, that is why i want learn more about getting Pachinko models i like.
Please answer many as you can. Share your know-how to new users here.

The new questions (should added to the list above):
2a. How long are Pachinko machines running in the game industry before they're placed out of the halls, for example because they're old/less popular or must make room to new machines. I think it may varies pretty much depends on people, but you may say about it.
2b. How big is the chance that used machines are disassembled or destroyed after use? Of is chance more bigger that they are sold to special vendors, so you can import some machines from them. I know destroying machines is big pain for many people. But what are actually the facts about the used machines? 6 million machines in game halls is very much, thus there is good chance some machines are destroyed immediately after use. Not all are "good" for aftermarket.

Usually the absolute earliest you can get a machine is about a month after they are released in Parlors. But this depends a lot on the machine and you will probably have to pay through the nose to get one. For example a few vendors have already started to list Titanic for sale, but I think the last one I saw was for about $2K. It depends a lot on supply and demand - Eva 6 had pre-orders before it was even released at some places because they make so many units. It started at about 1-1.5K, but dropped in a month or two down below $700 because they flooded the market and the price dropped drastically. Other machines like Yamato 3 can stay up for a long time either because not many machines were produced or there is a huge demand in Japan. The good thing is if you are willing to wait the prices normally drop substancially, but if it is a rare machine you might not be able to have that as an option.

I found the special importeur in the Netherlands, my country, the company has contacts with Japanese company who can export new Pachinko machines. I'm going ask the Dutch company what the costs are and what the best options are. Even more, the Dutch company is very specialized in Pachi-machines! (thus also Pachislo)
Indeed, new machines are more expensive than used machines.

I shall let you know if i have more information from the company. Perhaps i'm going visit the company for better talk and machine checkings.

I have first answers. Getting one new machine from 2011 costs around 4000~5000 euro.

Indeed better wait a bit longer. But for this price, you get brand new one...
I ask him now about 2nd hand machines and what he have in stock.

I bought my first Model B machine from craigslist. Since then I have bought more from craigslist(mixed bag, usually dirty or broken, but whaddayawant for cheap anyway), from ebay(not my preference as they usually don't know how to pack them well or even what they have, members here excluded of course), from other members(the best source, you will get straight answers on what they have and what shape they are in) and a few from out of state with some assistance shipping them out(pricier due to added shipping costs, but have got some of my collection fav's this way).

My best advice, pick out a theme or themes you would like to collect and go after them. Not sure yet? Buy a few, sit on them for a bit, and if they still don't strike something within to keep them around, sell them off and find what you are really looking for.

Brand new??? Do you mean, very new/slightly used/like new? I am under the impression that NO machines are avalible to the secondary market unused. I thought only a few months old (nearly new) was the best we could get, if money were no object! I've got all my machines from CraigsList or eBay, ranging from $1.002 FROM COLUMBUS 010.jpg ,to over $200.00. (sorry, no pics of the overpriced ones...I try to purge those memories and just enjoy the game!) Ranging from junk to treasure! All my machines, except 2 are vintage because I am very mechanically inclined, so the electronic ones are of not much interest to me. Shipping often is the larger expense, the farthest I have had one shipped was 2,500 miles from Oregon to Ohio. That one is one of my favorites, and shipping was only $40, less than the machine itself. But, once again, it is VERY vintage, and therefore MUCH lighter than ANY modern, and most newer vintages.Matsuya Sangyo 002.jpg new pics 002.jpg I know this don't answer any of your questions, but may be useful to 1st buyers of vintage machines. I just wanted to check the NEW/Slightly used issue...and got off on a tangent. Good luck on the purchase of your 1st/next pachinko...and be sure to start a new thread with plenty of pics when you do!

I just converted Euro to dollar. 400-500 Euros = $496.59-$620.66. Once again, I'm a vintage pachinko guy...so I cringe at these prices, but for a 2011 machine...sounds about right to not bad at all...depending on the machine. Plus shipping, of course!

A new thread, with all this info collated into clearly defined sections, needed?

Captain Sid might be onto this with us all, in the next week or so (I think he's on a ship in the Caribbean again!!)

I think we can present all this more clearly, and comprehensively, with a little effort.

It occurred to me on the weekend, as 10 new machines arrived on my doorstep at once, there is a LOT to learn on this site but much of it is spread across many, many areas.

A one place WIKI for Modern machines (in this case) therefore, would be very worthwhile.

Theres no really clear answer for some of these quesions as it varies from country to country,
    #1
No idea as I'm sure the manafactures wouldn't ship out of Japan.

    #2
For sourcing newer machines in the US there are a couple of specialist like Frank, and he will ship worldwide but I would hate of think of the cost. In mainland Europe there is dragonfly amusments who you have already found, But here on our little isle (UK) we haven't had an importer for a few years now,

    #3
Simple answer is YJA or Rakuten auction sites, Used machines from all eras can be found there. If you want some thing speciafic you might have to wait a while depending on age an availablilty. I haven't seen a Cutie Honey there for almost 2 years. There are also many suppliers for the home market in Japan, But most will not ship out of Japan, Same as the auction sites. You need a third party in Japan to act as the buyer, then ship it to you. Try searching online for 中古パチンコ

Prices vary wildy on same items, The ranma 1/2 can now be found for under 8000 to over 20000 yen in Japan, But expect to pay another 200 euros on shipping.
I've had 3 machines shipped form Japan and currently have 2 more on the way. The cheapest was 600 yen and the most expensive was 15000 yen.
As you can tell the greatest cost between buying from Japan and from a dealer in your own country is the shipping costs. The dealer will be able to ship them much cheaper as they will get a container load at a time, where otherwise you have to rely on the postal service.

    Weight and postage
Hard to say as varies from machine to machine, Machines upto about 2006 weight about 30KG. Newer ones much heavier, The 2009 Super Sea Story weights 43KG. Cheapest option is the slow boat from Japan, otherwise known as surface mail. Can take 2 months for your machine to arrive. Also note that there is a 30KG weight limit on postal service items. When I have machines sent. they come in 2 boxes and have to be re-assembled on arrival. Of course, FEDEX and UPS will ship heavier items in one piece and you can receive it in a week, but expect a price tag of £1500-$2000 for shipping alone. Compared to £180-$250 by surface.

For the US market, I don't really see the need of importing yourself, You might save $50-100 on a machine, BUT you don't get any warranty,or insurance if damaged in transit, Also you have no comeback if sold a lemon. No chance of return either. Of course if you find a rare machine in Japan or in a great hurry to get the machine of your choice thats a different matter, Frfank will do custom orders and will have the machine of your choice shipped on his next order as long as he can find one of course. Deposit may be required.

I always put the total costs of my machines for reference when they arrive and posted on the forum as sometimes I have to pay customs duty and sometimes they go straight through. But the last machine to be shipped cost £220 so far. It would be more if I get import tax on it.

Ok I will be getting My first Pachinko in a few machine days. When Unpacking the machine, what should I look for? When playing how often will I need to fill the machine with balls? I purchased 800 balls with the machine, is this enough? Do I need to have a container in the rear of the cabnet to catch balls? I noticed on some of the older (vintage) machines it has a chute within the cabinet. I'm assuming this is for some kind of jackpot/loss? When first plugging up the machine will I need to reset the machine or do any other work to get the machine to start? The reason I ask about the reset is that a few years ago I bought a speed racer pachislo and I think (sometimes what you remember isn't reality) I had to hold a reset button to get it to work. thanks for your time
