Default Vintage Comet II jackpot tube - Warp Zone - Worm Hole

Here is a vintage modification that is very machine specific.

Worm hole tube installed above tulip.jpg

This was done on two Vintage Comet II's and I think kids will like it when the cabinets are done.

The basic idea is to make the game easier for kids or the disabled to play. Yes, one has to still fill the reward tray and yes, one still has to put pachinko balls in the shooter tray.

The first modification was to convert the games to semi cyclic meaning all "lost" balls that normally go into a small tray under the machine come out in the front, bottom tray. It is explained further in another post or send a PM for more information.

This post is about the second modification. Basically, introducing a pachinko ball above a tulip, and in this case, a jackpot is paid out and two tulips are opened.

It won't really be done until the cabinet is completed but I thought I'd show the modification. Again, very machine specific, send me a PM if you want more details.
There will be a hole in the front of the finished cabinet to drop a pachino ball into. It will travel through a 3/4" ID clear plastic tube to the fitting in the pictures...

A player will be able to start with one pachinko ball, place it in the "Warp Zone" tube and get enough balls loaned out to play a long time. If the player gets frustrated, just drop another ball in and some tulips open, making it a little easier. To put the game away, just move all but one pachinko ball into the reward tray.

Kind of like a Dave Rob Dongle for vintage machines... well not really...

I'm guessing this sort of thing has been done before but I couldn't find any posts, not sure... There is a side view of the fitting with most of the thread cut off, and a view of the back of the machine with both modifications completed.

Here is the unaltered, 3/4" fitting from Home Depot, around $3.00
