Default Tips for cleaning/restoring my old pachinko?

Hello. I recently purchased an old Nishijin "Super Deluxe" pachinko machine. It's pretty dirty (the path of the balls, overall dirt), the paints a little faded, and some of the chrome is a little flaky or rusty. I was wondering if anyone had any tips of cleaning or restoring old machines.

    For example,
    1. What chemicals to use or not use.
    2. Techniques and tools you used.
    3. How to restore chrome.
    4. Any tips on repainting?

Also, I was wondering what's the best, cost effective way to set a pachinko machine (it's very front heavy when I open it up). I've seen legs bolted on, machines bolted onto little tables, cainets, and wall mounts. I'm thinking the little table idea might be the best for me (don't want to deal with the wall mounting).

    Thanks!

    Sam

    Default First Machine

Welcome to the joys of Pachinko. My first 2 machines were the old style that needed work and cleaning. Your next step in the process is buying additional balls and then buying your first modern Pachinko. Then you graduate into Pachislo machines and the next thing you know, you have a finished basement that has 20 machines with flashing lights and loud music and noise from tokens and falling balls and you are checking into this forum two or three times a day. I am in Jackson if you want to see where you will be in six months with this hoby. Frank A

Pachinko fever comes upon you slowly at first. You think there's no harm in just fixing up the oldies, but then, as Frank A has said, you notice the flashy new pachinkos.

On a lark you buy one.

    You are doomed!!!!

There's no turning back. now. Your condition has escalated into full-blown hyper- pachinkoistis.

The current method of treatment includes buying obscene numbers of balls, building custom cabinets and re-infecting yourself by buying more pachinko games!

    All is lost!

But, my friend, what a ride it is!
