Default Help figuring out a Nishijin "Success Story"

Hi Everyone, I am pretty new to the world of Pachinko, just picked up my first machine today and had some questions. First of all it's a Nishiji Success Story, here's a photo:
    IMAG0023.jpg
It seems to be working, but the "Stop" light in the top left corner stays on, does that mean that there are not enough balls in the machine? When I get the balls into the pockets there is never a pay out, but some of the balls do make it into the collection tray in the back. Also could someone explain the meaning behind the different light up numbers and the "digital" number towards the bottom left corner of the playing field? Also is there a release for all the balls in the machine? And finally, there's another digital readout on the back of the machine that can be either 0, 8, R, F, and H, there is a legend for these but it's in Japanese, what does this mean? Any help greatly appreciated!

balls coming out the back are ones you have played, it should pay out to the front top tray when you get one in any hole. If the out of balls light is on you don't have enough in the reward tray (top back), the tab that blocks the channels is down (if it has one, I just looked at mine and did not see one) or you have a blockage before or in the payout motor. You need to start with at least 500 or more balls in the reward hopper and see if the "stop" light goes out, if not post some pics of the tracks from the hopper to the payout motor and we can look for something not right.

    Welcome Aboard

    Nice looking machine
As owen said. Make sure you have enough balls in the back. Then check the path down to the payout motor. Make sure the balls stop lever isn't down preventing the balls from going into the machine.
The digital 7 seg display on the rear would be error codes. What code is displayed after you switch on. There should be a ball dump lever or knob somewhere.
If you can post a picture of the back of the machine. Around the ball feed, payout motor and the key, It would be very helpful.

I think this may be the game instructions
It's a Kenrimono (rights) game. From what I get from game sites, it pays out 3000-6000 balls if you complete the bonus rounds correctly. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to do that

Thank you everyone for the help and the welcome! I played around with it today and it seems like I don't have enough balls (if I load >90% of the balls, the "Stop" light goes out and it will pay out before running out of balls again). I guess I'll have to get some more balls for it to work properly.

Thanks for the instruction link, compirate! This does help, although I wish I knew Japaneses so I could figure out how to get to the gambling and boat racing shown in step 3!

Another question I had is whether or not having real glass helps with game play? I have plexiglass so the balls get stuck sometimes and I need to tap on said plexiglass to get them to move.

you need at least 1000 balls, 2 or 3 is better.

I have had luck shimming the front side of too thin plexi with paper or card stock to keep it as close to the play field as it can be.

It is modern, so I know very little about it. But you came to the right place! Someone(s) can help you! When you have a question about a mechanical machine, I might have an answer. WELCOME TO PACHITALK!!!

Ok, played around some more and my roommate was able to figure out how to get the left bonus pocket open. Progress! Owen, I tried to see if the plexiglass is too thin, but it seems quite thick. It was seated very well and I couldn't get it out even. Could it be that it is warped?

    Also, took some more photos:
    IMAG0027.jpgIMAG0024.jpgIMAG0026.jpgIMAG0025.jpgIMAG0028.jpg

So the first and second image is the top right of the back where the power switch is. As you can see in the first photo, when I open the panel, there is a dial/ rotating switch underneath the power switch, any ideas what it could be?? Moparformances, the last photo is, as you requested, of the top right of the machine front. The dials in image three are right where the launch controller is in the front, I know they are for force and sensitivity but which is which??

your glass / plexi should slide in and out of the frame with ease... if you cant get it out it might be to wide and warped...

the "dial" under the power switch.. could it be a fuse??

sounds like your geting it sorted out... as for what dial does what on the shooter knob, im sure someone knows the answer

one of the dials adjusts how hard the shooter shoots (left), the other the sensitivity of the touch ring (right).

And make sure the plexi is in the inner groove (closest to the playfield) of the door.

Mopar is right, the plexi or glass (mine is glass) should slide out the top of the door easy, my guess is it is a little to wide and is warping, or it is in the front track instead of the track close to the play field witch would cause balls to jam up as well
