Default Gottlieb Gold Wings - new purchase... lighting question

Recently purchased the referenced and it worked 90% when I got it. Lots of cleaning, new bulbs, adjustments to the leaf switches, etc and it WAS working 99.9%.

However, it now seems that several lights have decided to quit working. They seemed to have 'dropped out' all at the same time. I don't see specific fuses for specific sets of lights.. but maybe I'm missing something.

What I do know is that there are two groups of lights out. And I say groups because when I look in the owner's manual the lights seem to 'grouped' together by plug or circuitry that ties back to the light control board. I tried to unplug and replug to no effect.

So, help me out here Pinball guru's, is there a trick to when a group of lights all stop working at the same time? For some reason, I seem to recall reading somewhere that this is common and it tells the tech where to look for the problem.. but maybe I was just dreaming that.

Anyway, any help provided would be appreciated!

Actually, I got a response from the Rec.Pinball.groups.goole... I'm sure I didn't get that right... but anyway... it was suggested that I look at the ground plugs on this machine. It seems that Goitliem brings all their ground wires to the lower cabinet and then uses plugs to allow for easy removal of the play field. Well, these plugs are not of high quality and they become loose over time and creates ground faults. I reset the plugs and they started working again.

There is a 'ground modification' that is simple enought to do that I will make and then post a photo or two here of the finished job. It was also brought to my attention that this ground found can create all sorts of odd behaviour some of which I'm seeing.

    Thanks for your reply!
