oyakata by aruze reel color questions

hi there i have a man trying to sell me a oyakata by aruze. the thing that dont know about is the reels have a white tint to them in the pics you cant really see any of the characters. he said it is like they have something over the color. and that he tried to clean one and you can see the color come through.. any thoughts ?slotmach004.jpg

I would stay away. Its a basic 2001 machine with tiny lcd screen. In my opinion not worth taking a chance on fixing the reels on less its real cheap like $25 or so. That way you can just use it as a part machine if the reels don't clean up. I have never seen anything like that before, maybe he soaked them in bleach???

HI CHRIS this guy knows nothing about the machine. he bought it about 5 years ago at a auction. he doesnt have any tokens to test it with. but something else i wasnt sure about is that when he turns it on, he said it lights up and starts playing music. so i dont know if it may be stuck in bonus mode or what is going on.

If its in a bonus then it just needs to be played thru but most likely stuck in an error and needs to be reset.

It looks like the reels were painted over . I think I would pass on this one. That looks like alot of work to try and save reels that are probably ruined anyway.

that is what is looks like to me also. i dont know why anyone would want to paint over them, unless they were wanting to make a custom machine. but you can not tell what some people are thinking. thanks

I'm partially with Chris on this . . .
If it's cheap, why not grab it?
Hell, the hopper alone could be sold for $20 if you decide to part it out.
Plus it gives you something to do . . . you didn't have plans for the weekend anyway.
