Default I need an opinion about a vintage pachinko item cost

Hello, I found this item in an brazillian mercado livre( a kind of brazillian ebay) and the seller is charging 1000 brazillian reais for this item. Its between 600 usd. The machine doesn't works. I would like opinion from someone that understand about this cost. I think expensive for a machine that doesn't work, and parts appears to be rusty. Is it very expensive? I compare with ebay costs, and this machine cost appears to be so much above the value cost. Please just give some light about it. I put the pictures below. Thanks

It does look like it has rust, and the pic of the cell front, could just be a really bad pic but looks to me like it is water damaged / stained??

It does seem very very expensive for what it is, although i have no idea what the market for Vintage pachinkos in Brazil is??

but $600 USD sounds a awful lot of money for it

(A quick conversion of 1,000 reais is roughly about £378-00 GBP and I wouldn't pay that much for a Vintage in that condition here in the UK)

Is it hard to find them in Brazil??

Thanks for answer.I think few people knows about pachinko here in brazil. I never play the game, and never knew someone here that have and play. we need to keep satisfied with playstation simulator or other video games. I'm not sure if pachinko is forbbiden here. I've heard that in Japanese colony on São Paulo had an pachinko place during early 80's.The big problem to import from other country is the hard value that brazillian custom can charge from us. I think that machine had been well sold for 150 brazillian reais ~95,00 USD, or less.

Obviously if Pachinkos are very rare in your country that will certainly increase the price, so it's difficult to give a balanced opinion

Hopefully other members will post their opinions too

I saw this machine to sell since 2006 or 2007... The seller always keep the same item cost. Nobody buys. Few weeks ago I was thinking about...but its hardly expensive and doesn't work...It would need a good repair, very good repair.

If the seller has relisted it and relisted it, there have to be certain reasons why it is not selling. In another thread, feedback on value of machines, the overall concensus on the value of a machine was,"A machine is worth what someone is willing to pay".

Im my opinion what you should do is consider what you know about pachinko restoration and your personal confidence and come up with a realistic amount of money you would be willing to pay. I would then contact the seller and discuss why you think it has not been selling, and then make them a cash offer. If the seller is a bit hesitant, possibly making a visit face to face and showing cash in hand would be the persuasion needed for this machine to change hands. Ultimatly, you have to decide what the machine is worth to you; it will not be any fun at all if you don't like the machine you own and you feel you overpaid for it.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Darcy,

I realize the difficulty you have in getting a machine down there in Brazil. 600 US is really high. Maybe you could offer him 200 or so (even that is high for a Model A in that condition). Its really only a $40 machine around here but I understand how rare they are down there. I also know how much you want one

You should bring up the condition of the playfield and the missing ball track cover at the center rear of the machine.

    Wish you luck!

I really couldn't pay R$1000,00 BrazilReais(~US $600,00 usd). Its a lot of money, and possible I would spent more money to repair and restoration. I think maybe I will do your sugestion. Offer $200(R$334,00) or even $150(R$250,5) - I consider change tax R$1Brl = US $1,67 USD - It would be more light, but compare with machines that has been sold in USA in the same condition, his machine is still expensive. .The seller told me that this machine is from 1950's, but I'm sure that is from 1970's (that label I was checked in vintagepachinko website). These days I saw in EBAY USA a good condition machine (I don't remember label but was vintage) for $375 include priority mail. So I think its a moment to work patience myself.

    Thanks for wish me luck.

I did not buy. deal not closed. Seller weren't flexible. I will need to wait better financial economic opportunity. However, thanks for all opinions.
