looks like there is a movie but both of the trailers are fan made (unless the movie ripped off battlestar and star trek footage).

At one time it was actually Disney that had the rights to a live action film I believe it its like the Eva Movie. Some thing would be really kewl if done but mostly never will be done. Though the Japanese version got some decent reviews!

well where to begin...
the other day i saw the Space Battleship Yamato..

and i can say i was impressed... even though it was in Japanese and with subtitles.. i found it very hard to pull away from..
it kept me sucked in..

i'm not to good at writing movie reviews.. but if you liked the anime series.. then you will definitely enjoy the movie..
its 2 hours and 18 minutes.. but its time well spent..

So are most (non Japanese ) movies over there dubbed or subtitled??

all movies here are subtitled.
even in the theaters

the only exception being animated movies. which are offered in 2 versions.. 1) dubbed for the Kids and 2) for the adults

the only real dubbing they do here are for TV shows.. and this is really rare.. they used to dub some cheezy brazilian soap operas and such.. and one channel even dubbed doctor Who and oprah for a bit.. but it was jsut too silly.. and subtitles is so much easier..

It is not uncommon for Greeks to speak 2 or 3 languages..

English, French , German, Spanish are among the most popular..
