Here is a machine I have with the shooter spring connected correctly. The different holes on the right side of the spring allow for a tension adjustment on the shooter.

Hi Jeff - I did pick this up off of CL last week. Not sure if it was up around Thanksgiving or not. $40; I thought was a pretty good deal, with 200 some balls, about half of them really rusty so I'm not using them. Came with a neat ball tray from Pachinko Palace as well.

As I've spent more time cleaning it up, I've fallen in love with this machine. The beautiful simplicity of the workings, the neat design on the front - I hope my wife loves it as much as I do!

I'll check those two things later today when I can take a look without her around, and post back. Thanks for the help!

Ah yes... It sounds like you have leaped off the slippery slope of Pachinko addiction like all the rest of us have. One machine turns into two, then three, then 15, and so on... Each machine will have a uniqueness that appeals to you, and you will draw to it like the moth into the porch light.

Welcome to the Dark Side, James. You are among friends here.

pic 5 is the huge problem

the wire that moves the ball lifter is on the wring side... and the wire that shuts off the lifter when the lower hopper is full is on the wrong side as well..

im at work and dont have pics to post but im sure someone can post a good pic showing the two problems..

Jeff - yes, headfirst and I'm loving it! Thanks for the warm welcome. I think I'm going to have a good time here. As for the shooter spring, yes that is attached to the nail and I found the way to adjust the tension - thanks!

Moparformances - thanks, I've had some concerns about this area. The rod that I think is supposed to go out of the bottom for the reset lever seems to be broken or stuck or something. I'll try to put up a better picture of that. If anybody has a proper picture of this area, please share.

Another area I'm concerned about is the backside of the flipper. There is a rod that keeps popping off of the back of the flipper mechnism. I'm posting a pic that I hope illustrates. Any thoughts?

thanks to everyone for taking time out of work today to help me out. I can see the headlines now: "Pachinko Discussion Results In Huge Economic Slowdown".

that rod is wrong in your pic let it slip off...

its perous in life is to pus that piece of plastic not hold it

when the lower hopper is full of balls a flap inside the hopper pushes that rod out.. by pushing that rod out it will deactivate the lifter and keep the play from shooting more balls untill the lower tray is emptied...

so move that wire from the left side to the right

the other wire is wrong as well.. as posted in your pic the shooter is not returning to its full rest position.. so move the wire that has the piece of hose on it from the lft side to the right side of the plastic piece...

    hope this all makes sense

James, if you mean the spring that actually contacts the ball, shooting it up the ramp, yes that spring should be there, I was just posting about that on one of my threads.

If I am not mistaken, the above picture showing the seesaw is in the INcorrect position, it should be angled upwards.
If you look at that link I posted, it should show how everything should be positioned.

Is anyone else here (the wizened ones) sure which model this is? A or B?

    James,

Here is a picture to illustrate what Mopar is talking about. I completely missed these issues when I was looking at your pic. I guess it's finally time to break down and get my eyes checked.

with that sorted keep in mind the wire with the tube is probably bent,,, with everything at rest the wire usualy does not touch the plastic.. be carefull bending tha wire it is supper stiff and will break easly if bent to much

you should be geting close now...

like gilly posted you jackpot seesaw is in the down position ans needed to be reset.. take a look at the sticky section and watch the Video posted about Model "B" machines

Thanks to everyone. I got the rod/flap figured out and will address the other issues. I did actually have it shooting and rocking & rolling for about 10 minutes, then...it stopped shooting. Any thoughts not already put forth?

Here's a link to Mopar's Model B video. It will clear up a LOT of your questions!

So, the pachinko went over like a champ. All the kids love it, and my wife loves that we passed this on to the next gen. One problem I did notice is that the left side (and part of the center) does not seem to triggering a payout, only the right side. Perhaps a jam somewhere?

Yeah, with a little help, if you watch the back of the machine while someone drops balls into the pockets, and watch the path the balls take on the side that works, then watch the non-working side I am sure the balls are getting trapped somewhere. They should be taking a common path at some point. I'd be concerned over where the winning balls are going on the side that's not paying out.
