    Default Canuck is new!

Hi there, I'm looking to purchase my first Pachinko machine and have been using these forums as an excellent resource to learn more before buying.

I'm a resident of Toronto and have been looking everywhere for Pachinko machines sold locally. Much like Chako, I've been looking at AC Warehouse/IMatrix Canada/Monkey paradise at the machines offered.

I've so far found it very difficult to get a straight answer from the people at that establishment.

I'm sure this is the improper forum, but if anyone in the GTA is looking to sell a fully functional machine, I'd be interested to know about it, please email me if you do.

That's about all really, when I do get my first machine, I'll be posting more often while I go through the "guys, I think I broke it" stage.

    Thanks very much!

    Thanks everyone!

So, I've purchased a Hyper Passion machine and will be picking it up tomorrow. I'm hoping all of this works out fairly.

I understand that this particular machine isn't the most thrilling, but I enjoy the aesthetics and I'm not all that keen on the newer machines that all seem to be themed according to a film or pop culture reference.

Although, the Iron Chef machine looks like a riot, mostly because its so obnoxiously loud.

Choice seems limited in Toronto for some reason, so I went with the least expensive investment I could.

I don't know what it is about these machines that's so intriguing, but its the same fascination I get from Curta Calculators.

I'll let everyone know how it goes, wish me luck!

    Welcome to PachiTalk!!

And congratulations on your first Pachinko purchase, it's not a model I have ever owned or played, so I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on it when it arrives and you get chance to test it out

I feel sort of odd welcoming you, and I just got here myself, but welcome.

Well, at least you can go and pick yours up. I live 10 hours away from Toronto, so it will have to be shipped to me via Canada Post.

No telling what shape it will be, or when it will arrive.

welcome aboard.I have the hyper passion machine .It is a more traditional style with a modern twist. Itonly pays out 4 rounds per win but you never know how lonf a fever will go.As long as it doesn't hit on green 4,or 9 it will keep hitting fevers .I have hit 30 in a row.The music changes to a fever pitch after 20 winnings. This machine is one of my favorites. Good luck with it.

Thanks again for everyone's kind words.

Takethecastle57: I've a near mint Curta II from the same production period. Mine was June '57.

There's a M1 cut-away demonstration model on Ebay right now that looks forged. Imagine, destroying a Curta for that??

Such a fantastic and amazing machine.

Chako: The seller we've both gone through is very odd. He only responds one email a day. Had he been more forthcoming, I likely would have purchased a more expensive machine.

I'm due to meet him tomorrow at a shopping plaza where I'm to pay by cash. It's an odd arrangement, I feel as though I'll be smuggling a pachinko machine into my car.

Further information: the address provided by the imatrix website is false. I visited the unit and it's unoccupied with a stack of uncollected mail in the doorway.

I've purchased the machine with the cabinet as well. I intend to inventory my purchase to ensure the machine is in working order, the cabinet fits, the balls and the key are included. If these contractual obligations are not met, I will be a very disagreeable considering the efforts I made to ensure both parties understood the content of the transaction.

Regardless, I'll let you know my opinion of the machine and the exchange.

I'm hoping to mount the machine on my wall, but I've no idea how heavy it is yet, or the mechanical requirements of the machine itself. I noticed some tutorials on the forum that I will have a good look at.

Which brings me to the last point: Who designed these forums??? They're the best I've ever used! There's so much functionality it's amazing!

Yep plenty to read on the cabinet thread! YOu can read but the "French Cleat" seems to be the best way to hang one on the wall!

Thanks for the advice. The trouble I've got is that the wall I'm mounting the machine on doesn't have proper studs. If the weight of the machine is under an hundred pounds I'll likely be using three strip cleats secured with toggle bolts. If it works, great. If it fails, what a glorious failure!

I would find the closest stud to where you will mount the machine, and anchor it solid then toggle bolt the other mounts. You may also want to anchor a braceon the bottom so the machine can sit on, to help distribute the wieght, on the wall.
