Is he talking about an automatic ball lift or something else?

    nope.
It means balls lost are routed back to the front tray as if they were won balls.

Ok, this is what I got from the Japanese gentleman.

It cycles the balls shot into the machine, back out to the from into the shooting tray. there is a LED counter that shows your winnings/loses. This means that the pockets have been changed to trigger that many impulses to the counter.

The back has been pretty much gutted to change it over to as they say in Japan "home play".

I, in all the emails, was not sure he was understanding the packing need, that the machine needed to get here all in one piece.

He said "he would wrap it in a little bubble wrap and fit it in a cardboard box."

Well I could not get across to him it needed 8 to 10 inches packing on all six sides and the box needed to be crush proof.

I was told "much to heavy". So I was not going to waste any money on the machine or non-refunded shipping for a machine that was coming in one or more pieces.

The only insurance was in the $300 shipping way, but that was only the machine not shipping and it was thro the post office.

So as much as I wanted it, and willing to pay the toll, the risk was beyond good judgement on my behalf.

Where there is one there will be more down the pipe line.

It would be cool if we could somehow find out how this mod is done...
maybe through a Japanese user-group site, or finding one over here that's been modified. This "ball circulation" seems to be an option for a lot of pachinko machines sold on Japanese retail sites.

    Great Idea !

This would be the ultimate mod for our Pachinkos and would eliminate the need for a ball lifter plus other unnecessary addons.

Anyone out there have contacts ?

Did you notice that the game went to a bidder in Great Britain?

I wonder if this person would be willing to share a few photos and info on the mod after he receives the game.

If you look at his feedback and auctions, it appears he has a pretty good interest in electronics and even pin ball games.

I wonder if he reads and speaks Japanese.

I purchased items from Hong Kong. It only took a week to get here. While it must be said that my item wasn't as big as this.

Syscom used to sell machines with a "circulation system". Did anyone here try one of those.

OK, I emailed the buyer. I'll let you know what I find out if he replies.

I also invited him to join our forum.

I talked to them once about the system of theirs. The told me on the phone that it made the machine only require 200 balls but they didn't recommend it since it took away some of the fun of the game. :-?

Their(syscom) old system did not have a digital counter on it so it really wouldn't have been much "fun" as you would never have had a count. Sounds like the one(just sold on Ebay) that is going to the UK has a led counter on it. Now that would be fun !!

I received a reply from the winning bidder in the UK and, guess what!
He is a member of pachitalk.com!! Small world.

The gentleman's name is Jon Batson and his handle here is JonBatson. He is very responsive to providing pics and information on the home play mod on the game.

Jon has an extensive background in electronics and should be able to decipher some of the circuitry of the home use conversion. He reminded me that delivery of the Popeye game will probably take 6 to 8 weeks and then he will need a little time to give it a good once over.

He has visited Japan 5 or 6 times over the past and has lived there for about 6 months in 2000. That was where the pachinko bug struck with so many pachinko parlors nearby. Jon still has several friends in Japan and is considering the possibility of importing pachinkos into Great Britain.

Jon is also interested in pinball machines and old mechanical slot machines and manages an interesting website than rents pinballs and old slots for parties. It's link is Here

Jon also would like to hear from other pachitalk members living in the UK. If possible, please drop him a line. You can pm him from this board or, if you wish, contact him through his website.
