    Default GameRoom magazine

I know some of our members are subscribers to GameRoom Mag and indeed some have been featured in past issues

You may be aware of the news, but for those that aren't, here is the link

GameRoom Magazine - Home Gaming News and Reviews

Sad news indeed, I was never able to subscribe myself, due to costs of being in UK, but I have had a few copies sent to me by PT Members and I found it to be a really good interesting magazine, the best I have seen dealing with Games Rooms and our hobby too

advertisers are what makes or breaks magazines,

In the earlier video game craze I've seen many magazines I subscribed to vanish.

at least they are trying to give you something with the free download instead of just keeping your money with nothing in return

Oh no, that is bad news. Did they not have ads in to help sustain the magazine? Or did they not want to go the electronic/pdf route with each issue? Nice to see they are giving subscribers the pdf collection of their magazine's 20 years.

Sadly this will be what will happen to most print media sooner or later.

The internet is very difficult to compete with. As readers and such become cheaper and cheaper it will mark the end of the paper age..

Designing an online "magazine" is much cheaper then printing. It wont be long now.

The same is true regarding the newspaper industry. Newspapers across the country are consolidating or folding (pun intended). I have seen three long running daily publications go out of business in the last five years due to the culture shift in the way people get their news. More and more people are using the internet and canceling their home delivery subscriptions. The Rocky Mountain News in Denver ceased publication and closed down two years ago after more than 150 years in business. They cited declining subscriptions and sales to the point where they couldn't produce a newspaper at a profit.

It won't be much longer before the newspaper becomes obsolete.
