Default E5 error on Heiwa Machine

I have a machine I purchased 2-3 years ago. It has power, but it is giving an E5 error code. I was able to get the following off the machine that was in English...Heiwa HE-G 007433.

It says Raizonden on the graphics.

There is some Japanese characters on the video screen. When I turn the key it sometimes changes and also displays the E5 error code.

    Any suggestions?

    WELCOME!!!

Are You talking about a slot?? If so the first thing to try would be a full reset..

Its also always helpful if you can post pics of your machine..

Yes sorry it is a slot. I have a limited set of instructions which has an instruction for reset (Turn off power, turn key to left, hit the play bar twice, turn key right, turn power on). I have tried that without success. I have also tried removing the coin hopper and cleaning it. It still feeds coins and there is nothing blocking the coin feed.

I have uploaded two pictures of the machine.

    Thanks for your help!

You have the Key function Backwards.

    1. Power off
    2. Turn the key to the right
    3. Power on
    4. Press the odds set button to set from 1 to 6
    5. Press and hold spin knob for 5 seconds and release
    6. With power still on, turn the key back to the right.

I tried the reset without any success.

I did note that there is a red light flashing on a board near the volume control (left of the reels) There are two sets of ribbon cables attached to a clear plastic piece; one set goes to the door and the other to the mother board. There is also a steady red light on a board attached to the right side cabinet.

Thanks for all of your help!

Pull out your reels and check them. Make sure the connections are clean and that they are plugged in properly. do they spin correctly? Do they stop immediately when you press the stop button for each one? Check your stop button connections to make sure they are good and tight and do the same for the spin knob. E5 is a reel error but it can have many causes.

I pulled the reels and they appear fine. I checked all connections and pulled and reinserted each without any luck. There is a board to the left of the reels where the sound control is. As I mentioned there is a flashing red light on that board. I pulled that as well and could not find anything to identify the light. It is located above a ribbon of wires with an orange connector which goes from that board to the reels.

Again thanks everyone for all your help.

One thing I did note is that when I do the reset, a redirector on the token mechanism pulls in (which would allow the coins to drop into the hopper) put then flips back out immediately. I don't know if that means anything.

I could not see if they stop properly because they are not operating with the error code. They do spin freely by hand, but without the operation of the unit being ok they don't spin on power.
