Balls continue to be dispensed from top tray

I have the Star Trek pachinko machine, and when I add enough pachinko balls to fill even 1/4th of the top load tray the machine begins to spit out balls from the bottom. This action seems to be triggered when the little lever door (inside the ball tray) is depressed. If I don't fully fill the tray and the lever is not pressed by the pachinko balls, the machine functions correctly, though I have never seen it dispense balls for winning.

What could be wrong with it?

On a separate note does anyone know what the different modes do on the back of the machine (the switch adjacent to the volume switch)?

By the bottom, do you mean the bottom/back of the machine? Or one of the front trays?

If the balls come out the bottom in back, you may have a ball dump gate open, and the balls fall straight through.

If balls come out the front, you probably have some payouts stacked up in the machine. Keep refilling the top tray and they'll eventually be cleared.

If they are just "spilling out" make sure the ball dump lever is closed>

otherwise...

The machine is paying out balls OWED.
You can keep feeding it until it stops, or power up while holding the reset button in until the game comes on. That should clear it
