    Default Mizuho tulip problem

My wife 'volunteered' me to fix a Mizuho pachinko machine for a friend of hers. I've worked a little on pinball machines and arcade machines, but have never owned a pachinko.

After 6+ hours of taking it apart and cleaning the dust, dirt and nicotine gunk I put it back together and was a little suprised that it works almost perfectly. The one problem is with a tulip that balls are backing up in.

I've taken pictures of the machine and the tulip in question, and would appreciate any help. I believe the problem is with the brass 'tounge' that sticks out between the 'petals' of the tulip. I can see that it's bent, and I think that's the problem.

Unfortunately, I don't know what it should look like. Could someone please take a look at the pictures and let me know if I'm on the right track and if so, how the piece should be bent? I'm thinking it should be level, instead of pointing downwards like it does now.

    Thanks!
    Tom

my guess is to lift the brass part that is sticking out..

with the tulip closed insert a ball from the bottom and give it a light push..

then try it and see if that helped..

the brass piece that is kinda like a toung looks as though it should stic out more and not be so bent down...

    hope thes help ya

Thanks for the pictures, and the greeting!

It looks like that was it! Once I started playing with it I saw how it's supposed to work - one ball straight down, one down the back, one ball straight down, etc...

I lightly adjusted the brass bit until the balls were able to pass straight through, which was where they were hanging up. Now it works great!

    Thanks again!

    Tom

    Hi Tom, and welcome!

Thanks for the great quality pics! Looks like you've done a great job with that Mizuho.

I noticed one more thing you might want to do: See where the ball track doubles back, down and to the left? Where the two balls have ridden up? There should be a cover over that for most reliable operation.

Mopar has made some nice covers for one of his machines and posted good pics to show. Have a look at the last post in this thread: http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/vint...all-panel.html

I make due with a couple of business cards. Anything that keeps the balls from riding up works.

I hope your wife's friend enjoys her newly functional pachi! Careful now, these suckers are addictive.
