Default Missing parts issue (Help with identification and replacements)

    Hello!

I just returned from my first trip to Japan, and while I was there I became hugely addicted to Pachinko!

Now that I am back, I have purchased two machines. The first is a 2009 Super Sea Story in the Mediterranean (which will arrive late October or early Nov).

The other machine I just bought off of eBay (and also hasn't arrived yet - go figure) but I do have pictures of it and need help. I'm a huge Sumo fan, so even though the seller informed that this thing is missing parts, I still bought it. I know finding parts might be hard and is likely to cause many headaches, but I am willing to give it a try anyway.

I am attaching 3 pictures. The first is the front of the machine for general ID and such. It is a 1993 Heiwa.

The second shows the back of the machine. You can see at the bottom where there are loose wires.

The third is a close up of this area.

I've done some looking at the backs of machines recently but it is hard to make heads or tails of what is what. If any of you know the names of the things I'm missing, or have pictures of a similar machine that HAS the parts, it would be immensely helpful in my hunt to locate replacements.

I worry that it may come down to buying another machine and stripping it, but I am prepared to go there haha

    Thanks a lot guys!

Looks like the "ball shooter motor/electronics " has been removed and the options are : Rigg up mometary on push buttons to get the pachinko to make the center screen go into what we call here a "Fever" or find a parts machine that has a good to go shooter assy .

hi there. and WELCOME to pachitalk.

you're right over the hill from me in berkeley.

I agree with ttc that the shooter looks to be missing. this part shouldn't be too hard to come by.

also, if you want a sumo fixer upper, I bought a vintage one with moving sumo's that needs a cell (the background behind the nails) resurface. if you're up for the challenge, you can have it for $25 (what I paid for it).

the addiction only grows, so start making room for more of them

For $25 that is quite tempting!!

Perhaps sometime in the future if you still have it... I just moved back in with my parents after graduating from college, and lets just say they aren't too thrilled with the congestion I'm adding to their house haha

Add to that the fact that I just purchased, not one, but TWO pachinko's and you get the idea

I think for now I'm going to be working on the Sumo machine I just bought and playing the Sea Story. Oh yeah, and looking for a job too!

But yeah, about the shooter - what are your guys' thoughts? It probably has to be a Heiwa from the around the same era? Or any shooter should do it?

And thanks for the welcomes! I suppose it is good that I'm strapped for cash right now because I can see this hobby getting out of hand rather quickly

So my machine has arrived! And she's in excellent condition, though obviously not working yet.

As mentioned earlier, the machine is missing the motor which the shooting knob operates, although I'm beginning to think it could be missing more... (picture 1)

Anyway, I have a barrage of questions for anyone willing to tackle them

    1. Would anyone with a similar model be willing to take a picture of the back of their machine for me? I doubt a lot of people have this type, but it would be immensely helpful if someone did!

    2. I've powered the machine on and got it into a fever, but no balls are dispensed. I only have about 120 balls right now, so the hopper wasn't entirely full, but I feel like it should have dispensed. Any thoughts?

    3. I've found 2 odd features on the back, both of which puzzle me. First is this little switch that moves the won balls (balls successfully placed in pockets) up and down until they fall out the back. It looks like something should be attached to it. Anyone have any ideas?? (picture 2)

And second, there is this pull handle thing. When pulled it causes a grouping of wires to pull forward, but otherwise appears to serve no use... Again, any ideas what its for? (picture 3)

    Thanks a ton guys!!!

Sorry I didn't notice before, but this frame doesn't use a motor to shoot balls like most pachinkos do, it uses a solenoid..You're not missing a motor but a box with circuit boards, shooter adjustment knobs, the error display and the reset button!!

The "pull handle thing" is used to remove the control box you are missing..

The other thing that moves balls looks the same as the one on mine..Its probably something to help clear ball jams or reset something, but I don't know..I tend not to mess with things on the back unless I have to!!

You don't have to get a fever to check for payouts, a ball in any pocket should payout..But it might not payout with the stuff you have missing..

Here is a bad phone pic of what you are missing..(mine is B-1f Control System..there might be different ones??)
    hb1pc.jpg

If you could find one of these units you might be able to get things going..One way you might find one is to look for a similar frame (they came in blue/green too like mine, but not sure if the unit is the same) on Yahoo Japan Auctions and if it was super cheap and you won it you may be able to have the person who is shipping it to you remove just that box and ship that..Just a thought..But it might be cheaper to wait and just get a whole machine next time one is on ebay!!

Thank you for that picture MrGneiss!!!
Any chance I could bother you for a few more if you have the time?

Also, would you say that the right half of the bottom of ur machine is pretty much the same as mine in that first picture I just posted? (ignoring the power converter on the bottom, obviously)

I suppose its good that I am a patient person, because as you said its looking like I will probably have to wait until a similar machine comes up for sale...

kiai is our proxy on YJA for importing things.

he negotiates and bids for us, has it shipped to his house, check that the item works, repacks the item and ships to the US.

he's great. I am importing a Matrix machine and a vintage pachinko book through him now. I imported star wars about 6 months ago.
