    Default 1st Machine - Popeye

Boy, pachinko machines have sure changed since I was a kid... I remember the classic ones, flipping that lever... Now, I just touch the knob and they shoot.

So anyways, I got a Sammy Popeye off of CL, she wanted $100, I got it and a cabinet for $80 and only had to drive 20 miles!!!

Its all hooked up and I have been reading like crazy on here... Order of operation:

    1) Stop bleeding from ears
    2) Install Volume Control
    3) Screw machine to cabinet so it does want to fall out when I open it to power it on.
    4) Learn Japanese so I can understand Popeye

Just a quick question. Anyone have a manual for it ???

I am getting most of what I need to do...

    Shoot balls for center target
Hope (Pray) for 3 matching #'s
"When" this finally happens, shoot for the big door that opens
Fill the top feeder with more balls

I got to a point last night where when I had "spins" built up, the big button on the front lit up and the hearts on the screen where yellow instead of pink. I pressed the button and the music changed and got alot louder (this is when my ears started to bleed).

There are some LED's that light up on the lower right and lower left. I am guessing they have something to do with things as well. Any ideas as to what they indicate???

Well thats enough to get me started... I saw a Thunderbirds on CL as well. He wants $175. Is it worth it???

    Thanks,

    BLTRacer

    Welcome to PachiTalk!!

I can't find a specific manual for Popeye, generally all guides are written in Japanese unless someone has managed to translate one

There are articles in our Research Centre regarding Modern Day Operation
here's the quick link PachiTalk Research Center - FAQ - Pachinko - PachiTalk

Although it sounds like you are already getting to grips with Pachinko and having fun with it already

I do not own this model, but hopefully Members that do will post and perhaps tell you a little more about it, but ideally the best way is just to play and play and enjoy the little surprises as they happen
