Default OldTinyDingyAwesome Parlor & Machine pics

    Hi all,

Ran across a very cool page while googling "ミラクルフォースSP"

Exterior & interior pics of a couple of dinky old parlors and a bunch of 90s machines.

I can't make real sense of the google translation... looks like some kind of travel blog? Can anybody summarize?

I've attached a few of the choicer pics (like the racy-themed hanemono, ha!), but the page has MANY. Take a look!

Linked pages have slot pictures on them:

A panda playing football. and a duck flying a plane. Odd playing fields,
    And no peeking up skirts

The title is みなし機旅打ち~ぶらり一人旅 which is 'Minashi ki tabi uchi, burari ichi-nin tabi' and loosely translates as 'A Hane (pachinko machine) Journey - One's (my) Unexpected Trip'

This is a guy's trip to Kanagawa from Tokyo around 2006, where he found a few old parlours with machines at least more than 10 years old (admittedly, this is an absolute age in a pachinko machine's normal short lifespan in-situ) and was quite excited about them. On the first day out of his hotel, he talks about the weather, his GPS malfunctions and he gets lost for 30 mins, before he finds the one shop he knows and loves that holds his favourite old machines, and then goes on to list them down the page. All his words about these machines are in a very reverential tone.

He says neighbourhoods that want to just throw these machines away and close down the old parlours and machines are idiots. This is a neighbourhood that cares about these machines. Then excuses himself for being so loud and obstinate about his point of view (typical Japanese in that regard), but this type of parlour promotes skillful play and attracts customers.

    I can only humbly agree...

The second day, he lists Excite Jack and Challenger.

The third day he talks about another parlour and says he has permission to give out the address, which he does. He then lists the final machines. After playing a good while, he has a 30 minute chat with the good-humoured owner of the parlour about business and his parlour operation.

The hane pachinko machines are, unless otherwise marked, in order from top of page to bottom:

Nishijin's じゃじゃ馬キック or JajaUma Kick ('Horse Kick')
    Nishijin's 'Funky 7' (deji-pachi)
    Nishijin's 'Omedeta Brothers'
Nishijin's 'Skaebo Kids' or 'Skateboard Kids'
    Nishijin's 'DokanShima'
    Nishijin's 'Mr. Fall'
    Nishijin's 'Super Roulette' (deji-pachi)
    Nishijin's 'MochimogeTai'
    Nishijin's 'Super Off Roader 4WD'
Nishijin's 'MakaiGumi' or 'The Hell Team'
    Newgin's 'Challenger' (kenrimono)
    Newgin's 'Excite Jack' (deji-pachi)
    Newgin's 'Lady's Open'
    Heiwa's 'Fire Attack'
    Sankyo's 'Carrot Boy'
Okumura/Monaco's 'O-Tenki Caster' or 'Weather Girl' as Tenki is weather, and Caster is 'newscaster' or 'presenter'.
Heiwa's 'Bun bun Maru DX' or 'Buzz Ship Maru DX' as Bunbun is the sound of a propellor plane flying overhead.
    Daido's 'Fever Lucent D1' (deji-pachi)

It's a pity he didn't continue to let us know what happened on Day 4 & 5 (this page was Day 2) as he went to see some 'Arrange machines' and one of my favourite all-time hanemonos, Kyoraku's Tanukichi-kun on Day 4. But I can only find up to Day 3 - seems he never produced the final pages for those days, beyond the mere mention of them.

How awesome!!! Thank you very much for that translation... It adds a lot to know what he is talking about. It makes me happy to see love for this type of machine being spoken in Japan.
