    Default Nishijin Model A Help!

    Hello,

I just bought my first pachinko machine,a Nishijin Super DX Model A semi-cyclic game. When it pays out a jackpot, most of the balls fall into the lower receiving tray instead of the play tray. Sometimes only a few will fall into the lower tray, and other times nearly all of them do, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Is this the way it should be, and if not, how can I get the balls to fall into the play tray instead? Does it have something to do with how upright the machine is standing? Excuse me if this is a noob-question but hey, we all have to start somewhere!

    Thanks for your help,

    doug

It sounds like whatever piece that is there to divert winning balls to the bottom tray when the top tray gets full is either sticking or maybe in the wrong position...I'm sure someone that actually knows about vintages will be along to actually help you!!

Several of my earlier Model A machines do exactly the same thing. The ramp from the Jackpot payout to the front trays has a divert gate built into it, and depending on where the balls decide to roll when they are dumped from the jackpot payout chute will determine which payout tray they end up in. I think it was designed to be that way so that one tray would not overflow during extended play. Over time that design was changed to direct the winning balls to the top tray only.

I hope this clarifies for you.

i on the other hand have have never had a machine that droped the winning balls to the bottom tray... well not untill the top tray is full..

looking an one of my "A" machines i can see how balls that are moving slow might fall to the bottom tray... but my guess would be your machine may be leaning back to far..

try standing the machine more straight up and down

Well, I did some investigating while playing the game and it seems as though moparformances is exactly right. When I tilt the game forward, the balls all do payout the play tray correctly. However, when I do this, the losing balls get stuck at the bottom of the playfield. When the balls come out of the jackpot seesaw, the chute that leads to the play tray isn't slanted forward enough, so some of the balls roll backward and down into the lower tray area. I'll stick with some of the balls coming out the bottom tray; it's not a real big deal to have to transfer some to the play tray once in a while.

    Thanks for all your help,

    -Doug
