    Smile ROTAMINT Super Seven

I just picked up a 1967 ROTAMINT Super Seven from craigs-list.
The super nice gentleman that I bought it from had it in his collection of slot machines. He was running it from a 220V outlet as would be expected with a machine from Germany. I'm guessing that I can run it from a step-up transformer or I can change the internal transformer. Has anyone made the conversion to 110V?

It has a 3 coin acceptor, 1 mark, 50 pfennig and 20 pfennig (German coins) but is set up to run on US nickels.

I have attached photos of front, back and transformer.

Well I for one will be interested on the outcome of your modifications and would like you to keep us updated on how it went. I am extremely interested in what you think of the play on it once you get it going. I was wondering what it sold for?

I've been eying that rotomint for awhile , even went as far as calling him once about it(chappy i think his name was). He is a SUPER nice old man. How much did you end up getting it for? Last I saw it was going for about $100 AFAIK the pfening is the same size as a nickel so it would probably work on pfenings too. Do you having it running yet.. if so how well does it run?
    Have a nice day

Friends...here is a link to vast amounts of ROTOMINT information. Its all in German so use your favorite translator. Look half way down the page:

    Automatenarchiv: Inhaltsverzeichnis Geldspielgerte

And if you are interested, check out the homepage too. Lots of coin-op stuff. There are even forums and classifieds.

    Automatenarchiv.de

Preliminary information indicates that there is no easy way to just swap out a transformer like we do with Pachis. It seems that the main motor has the transformer built into it. Additionally, investigation with my volt meter shows many internal components operate on 220V. I ordered a 500 watt step up transformer for this machine and will give that a try.

    Details to follow.

    ROTAMINT LIVES!

I took delivery of my 500 Watt step-up transformer from amazon. It's an external transformer that outputs 220V with various voltage input. It cost me $33.00 with free shipping.

I set the transformer up for 110V operation (easy external jumper) and turned it on.

Plugged in the Super Seven and she lit right up. Dropped in a nickel and she ran perfectly. A hand full of nickels later and she paid out a few times for me.

As soon as I am able I will post more photos and a video. Stay tuned.

    Wink Re: ROTAMINT Super Seven

Here is a You Tube video of my Super 7 Rotamint machine (Super Sieben Geldspiel Automat).

YouTube - Super Seven Rotamint (Super Sieben Geldspiel Automat)

I'm running it from a 500 Watt, 220V step-up transformer. USA house current wont operate this machine.

Much like a Pachislo you can control the reels. The first reel you can restart after it stops, the second and third you can only stop.

The object is to get 777 for the jackpot. Your reward is a pay-out and 10 free games. Lesser combinations just give you a pay-out, from 1 to 8 coins.

The machine pays-out a few times during play. Listen for the coins dropping into the pay-out tray.

I still need to tweak the florescent lamp as it spontaneously turns off every 10 minutes or so. I think the bulb is making poor contact in the lamp holder.

Note how noisy this machine is. It reminds me of the old type mechanical slot machines.

Sorry for the poor video quality, I used a point and shoot camera.

    Cool!

Mine is the Super 7s and 8s of the same maker and era. Looks very similar. Mine however doesn't work.

    Need a matching machine?

    Congrats!

ya might see if there are any guys in your area that repair late 70"s and early 80's electro machanical slots.. they might be willing to take a look at it for ya..

I have seen a few machiens like that for sale but have never taken the time to look at one in person..
