    Default strssed is new!

    Wow this site is great!!
I just finished my first cabinet for a star wars pachinko and it sits next to a ultraman pachislo I purchased a year ago...you have great fantastic information that has been VERY helpful. I will post some pic soon, but I have a question...
Is there a glossary of term that is used here? Example, I do not know what dongle means? Any help?

    Hello, Welcome to PachiTalk!!

Congratulations on building your cabinet, I look forward to seeing the pics

Our Member Daverob has indeed invented a superb Card Reader Emulator Dongle, which enables the 2 buttons (usually on the front tray) on a pachinko to be used as they would be in a real Parlour. You will find a few threads regarding this and some videos

If you are looking for a more general reference for Pachinko playing, set-up and also playfield terms etc etc, then do check out our 'Research Centre' (4th button from right along the top of the screen, just under the PachiTalk banner) particularly the Pachinko FAQs section

But the Members here are very helpful and I'm sure they will answer any questions you may have, so please just ask

    WELCOME!!!

On this site when you see the word dongle it will mean one of two things, both relating to modern pachinko..First is the standard dongle..

Most modern pachinkos that have 2 buttons and a small led display next to them on the front ball tray will need a dongle for the machine to be able to shoot balls..This type of machine is known as a CR machine, you may notice the letters CR before the name of a pachinko..The dongle is a small thing that looks like the plug on an old printer cable..Most likely your Star Wars has one on the back of the machine.. They can come in many forms but all do the same thing..with out one attached the machine will turn on, but wont shoot balls..Here's a pic of what a standard dongle can look like..
    dongles.jpg

And second is what most people around here just call a Daverob dongle..

While doing the same thing as a standard dongle they also do a lot more..Like mentioned above they let you use the buttons on the front in a way like they were used in the parlor..allowing you to get balls to be dispensed to the front tray with the push of a button..

While not necessary for home play they sure do enhance the whole pachinko experience and I don't think there is anyone that has ever bought one that wouldn't highly recommend one!!

If you do a search there are a few threads right now about the new version of the daverob dongle that will be out soon and tons of old threads about the dongle if you want to learn more..or just check out Dave's site!!
