ok one fine example was getting her a lovely bouquet of flowers for Valentines day, and being chewed out for about 2 hours if if remember correctly as it was an inconsiderate gift and it showed no imagination and it was just for the sake of bringing home something. (which it was not) on a side note her gift from that valentines day is still unopened nearly 10 years later..needless to say there has never again been a valentines day gift given ever again..
and this answers the mystery of why Sid doesn't like valentines day anymore.

I saved up for my pin...birthday, Christmas, side work money...my wife was OK with it, but still thought it was expensive at $500. I think it makes it harder because nothing like that interests her at all...so she doesn't understand.

On the positive side, it doesn't matter what the reason is, she is always happy when I show up with flowers!

On the positive side, it doesn't matter what the reason is, she is always happy when I show up with flowers!

While my wife likes the thought behind the flowers I bring her, she would much prefer to have the plant they came from so that she can plant it in her garden.

I agree with Mopar. You better leave it at your buddy's house. We would hate to see you disappear from the site with no explanation and and wonder for the rest of eternity what happened to you.

just reading all these posts about flowers and things reminds of Mother's Day earlier this year...(march in UK)

My daughter presented me with a really nice Cactus plant!!

I was delighted with it, but my daughter was a bit unsure, as when she bought it in the store the person serving her queried if it was suitable as a Mother's Day present and told her other children were buying bouquets of flowers

I told my daughter that it was Super to receive something that she had chosen specially and it showed that she knew me well, as we both like things that are sometimes a little 'different'

Of course I would have loved anything she gave, flowers, chocolates, anything, but it made me extra proud that she went with her own thoughts on it

due to various scheduling conflicts between myself and the seller we werent able to get a date that worked for both of us for delivery..

and then finally... we found and arranged the perfect date last friday!
well... thursday night the Truck union issued a nationwide strike order

for the last few days Greece has been without transport trucks and fuel tankers.

fortunately the government has stepped in as of yesterday and ordered a back to work order forcing them back to work due to the disruption they were causing to the country.

anyway.. we begin negotiations again for transport today..

its never easy...
