Having been to headphone gatherings I don't see why there can not be pachi meetings

well after a bit of fiddling around..

i have been able to get the Google User Map to work for PT.

you can find the "User Map" under the Community tab on the Navbar.

How to Insert your location

first click on the "Your Entry" link located at the top of the map

once you are there zoom in to your location.
unfortunately there is no way to move a marker to where you are and just click accept
you have to zoom in to where you are and then center the map on your location..

the center of the map is where it will place the marker

then fill in the Marker title: Username
and Marker text: short description
Url of image: this is optional.. in case you want to post a picture..

then press the "insert the information" button
and you are all set..

A word of warning/advise: the information you will share on this map will be visible on the internet. It might be a good idea to have the marker in the general area of your location and not exactly on your exact location. Again it is up to you to decide what amount of information you share.

I thought I would refresh this discussion thread to see if we have enough interested people for a PachiCon in the Fall.

- There is a proposal for a weekend at Rusty's "man cave" in Houston
- There is a proposal for a weekend meet in Las Vegas
- There is a proposal for a "rolling" PachiCon in the Bay Area visiting the game rooms of a few of our members
- There is a proposal for a meet at a vendor warehouse in New Jersey for Parlor play

If you are interested in attending a Pachi meet this year, please post your preference for location and time frame. If there is enough interest I will see about making some of the arrangements to get things started.

If it's not with in driving range (3 to 400 miles from me) then it really doesn't matter much to me where it is. If I can schedule it.. I'll make it!

I could possibly host.. if there was any interest in people coming to Houston. I'm about 15 minutes from IAH airport, 30 minutes from downtown, 5 minutes from Splash Town water park, 1 hour from the gulf coast/Galveston. My home is big enough for a gathering with game room(s) and plenty of room to set up other games and such. (A hold'm tournament could also be had.)

Anyway... just offering .. .although a Vegas thing seems like fun to. I think there are several folks close by and possibly a Vendor who might want to bring some of their wares to peddle.

If you decide to host I might be able to make it depending on when it is.

If we had it in Vegas, do you think we could somehow involve the folks at the Pinball Hall of Fame? It's in Vegas, and Pachinko and Pinball are well sorta related. Or is there some bitter rivalry between Pachinko and Pinball players I don't know about?

Nahh , I own 2 pinballs and since 1976 I've owned over 40 Pachinkos . Mudfud and I last July had a meet in Las Wages and got to play some cool pins at the Pinball Hall of Fame at their old address so no problem . In Alemeda ,Ca is Lucky Ju Ju pinball museum and in Oct 2010 i will beat the Pacific Pinball Expo in San Rafael , Ca Welcome to the Pacific Pinball Museum

I'm 99% sure we'll go to the Pinball Expo this year, since it's SO close to home. Plus, the missus is starting to demand our next purchase be a pinball machine. We need to go to the Pinball Museum in Alameda and see what they have for sale now (and reminisce about when it was the record store my band practised in!). That's the best time of the year in the Bay Area, too - Indian summer season.

The Embassy Suites over there are nice! Just on the other side of the freeway from the A&W, for when you need your root beer float fix.
