Default Over flow bin with pins

I just got my Azteca Legend and it does not have the contacts for the over flow pin. It looks like it could at one time have the contacts.

What I would like to know if that can be wired up some how. The hopper I have can only hold about 650 tokens. Then they dump into the over flow bin.

Dritz posted a mod for 3 wire connection in (Pachislo Mods & Tech Issues) Topic (Electrical Safety Concern). That appears to show mod wired up.

you can put a piece of hard cardboard and some black duct tape to enlarge the hopper on the right side.

LD, I didn't realize what he was asking. I had to modify one of my hoppers just as you mentioned. A piece of carboard and some duct tape to hold it in place over that lowered area of the hopper.

On the machines that I have that have the pins wired, they go to a separate 2-wire connector on the power supply. Many vendors treat overflow bins as throw-away items. Most aren't interested in supporting proper overflow bin function. Some people would consider it lucky to have received the overflow bin at all with the machine.

i think the two wires just shut off the machine when the overflow bin is full.

you can usually find the right size tupperware at walmart's if you didn't get a bin from vendor.

I have a strange wire that goes from the motor area of the hopper and attaches to the front where the coins would fall if they were to overflow. But its connected to the metal plate either as a ground or a what? I tried blocking the hole and filling it with coins, but nothing happend.

    Whats this?

The small rectangular Gladware plastic containers fit well in most machines...and they are cheap...like $3 for a 4 pack. :-)

I stuffed one of those gladware containers in my Hanabi Hyakkei the other day, due to having so many tokens swiped from other machines, they kept falling out...that and the hopper on the HH seems to be relatively shallow, compared to the other ones....
    Gotta love that gladware!

Default Use slot stand for overflow

Hi. I am new to this forum coming from pachislocity.com. Something that works well (if you have a slot stand) is if you put a tupperware container as mentioned in place of the overflow tray put cut a hole in the bottom of the tupperware as well as your slot stand and let the over flow coins fall into a bucket in your stand. Then you dont have to deal with opening your machine everytime your overflow tray is full.

    Rubbermaid 1.5 qt pastic container.. it's about 4.5" x 7.5" and it's .99 at
Walmart. It fits just a bit better than the Glad square ones.....

    Hi and welcome.

Now if you cut a hole in your stand, what's the point of the tupperware container?

I think the tupperware with a hole cut in it would kind of work like a funnel keeping the tokens from just landing all over the place.

    Default bin

czyotto: look at the reel stop board on the top of your reels there is a plug on the right side the last two wires at the rear are the over flow wires the back one being black the next forward one being white. run one wire to each pin that enters your overflow bin. when the o.b. fills to your pins and makes contact the machine faults to E-1 and must be reset after emtpying the bin. enjoy!!

Thanks Tank. I looked at the wire bundle that ran to the coin hopper it had 8 wires. But when I traced it to the plug on top of the reels there were 10 wires. I found 2 wires (1 black & 1 white) cut. I jumpered them and then I got a CO error. I sent a PM to Milt to see if they had any spare overflow switches. If not I will wire up a couple long screws.

We normally cut them and take the clips and wires out and throw them away. Believe it or not, since 1997 your the 1st customer that wanted to have them in there! We can send you the wires and the pins if you like. If you could pay $10 for the shipping and handling, I can get them to you.

I PM Milt and this is what he wrote back.

So I sent him a PayPal transaction. I will see what he sends me.
