Default Twenty (vintage)pachinko Storage, Show and Play in 12 Square feet.

I use a variation of this.(my short shelf is in the middle not the top and holds 13 pachinko and my plotter)

It uses less then 12 square feet of floor space. I needs a ceiling of at least 94 inches. It will be just under 52 inches wide and 33 inches deep.

It will hold 16 machines in storage, two on the lower shelf for show, and two on the upper shelf to play for a total of twenty.

This is my ideal design. It is for vintage machines as I have none newer than 1981. Local costs are as low as $90 including fasteners. It will require eleven pieces and ten cuts.(maybe 15) I have a friendly local lumberyard that will do my cutting for me and you may too.

    Material list is:

    1 - 1/2" sheet plywood(24x48x96)
    2 - 3/4" sheet plywood(24x48x96)
    4 - 2x4x96
    4 - 2x2x96

Now I build things so I may someday stack my collection on lead bars on them and you may not need to build as heavy.

Box of long and box of short screws.
Urethane wood glue or beloved GORILLA SNOT (that's construction adhesive - If you used it you know why it is so nicknamed)
Pack of tapered shims are needed also($2 or so)

Cut List is: (as pictured in pic one)

    Grey is 3/4" plywood
    Blue/Black is 1/2" plywood
    Gold is 2"x2" or 2"x4"

    2 - 3/4" ply 32"x48" shelf
    1 - 3/4" ply 24"x48" shelf
    1 - scrap

    1 - Back(used whole)

    2 - 3/4" ply 24"x96"(note*)

    4 - 2"x4"x96"(note*)

    1 - 2"x2"x48"
    1 - 2"x2"x32"
    1 - scrap

    1 - 2"x2"x48"
    1 - 2"x2"x32"
    1 - scrap

    1 - 2"x2"x48"
    1 - 2"x2"x24"
    1 - scrap

    1 - 2"x2"x48"
    1 - 2"x2"x24"
    1 - scrap

Build a box under the two shelves with 2x2's

Assembly: (as pictured in pic two)

    Grey is 3/4" plywood
    Blue/Black is 1/2" plywood
    Gold is 2"x2" or 2"x4"

Shown with 17 machines pictured.(5 bottom row,5 middle row, 6 top row with no feet, 1 in play position)
16 stowed and 1 to play.

Add valance and curtain and cover completely if you like.

NOTE* - To secure this storage system to the ceiling you must measure and mark the spots for the 2x4's directly on the floor as they must be measured within 1/8" or so of the ceiling. You mark and measure for each 2x4 and mark each piece as you use the shims to wedge the 2x4's to the ceiling . You also you must trim the side panels to the correct height.

There is some flexibility in this deisgn and I am very open to any modification or improvement to this simple design.

All measurements are not the actual size. You must make the allowances for the thickness of material and exact method of construction but all pieces are there.

(If this design helps or inspires then it has done its job)

Be safe, have fun and now you can store more in less space.
