Default What is the oldest pachislo game?

Particularly, did they exist before 1985, or are they all still too new for the antique laws to allow exceptions for.

It seems that sufficiently old video poker games are now legal in CA, so there is hope for pachislo as well, if we can ever get a 25 year old one. DOes such a beast exist?

I think Olympia made the first pachislo in 1964...So they've been around awhile!!

The problem would be finding an early 80s one..I don't think many made it to the US back then..

I was under the belief that typical slot machine laws did not apply to pachislo.
Being they are considered a game of "skill" & not a game of chance.

They also do not accept; nor do they dispense, legal tender.
If a pachislo; which awards tokens, would fall under state gambling laws...
So then would a machine which awards tickets, or even a skill crane which pays out in small plush toys or candy.
Yet it is acceptable for the nation's children to play these games at fairs, supermarkets, or birthday parties hosted by a giant cheesy rodent.

I have seen remarks on these boards that state: "It is up to your "local" & not "state" laws to decide the legality of a redemption game".
If this is true, then who would hold that decision & where would you locate the fine print?

This is the only thing I have that mentions Sega..but its a really bad translation so not sure if it helps!!

I always thought maybe Olympia got their stuff from Sega to start with.. since its probably easier and less risk to just modify an existing thing rather than make something from scratch.. Since the machines look the same except for the buttons..
