Pachinko Adjusting Tools Pens

Was looking around on YJA a couple of weeks ago and noticed these pachinko tools (pens). Won them with a bid of 1000 yen.
They are brand new, but must be for vintage machines. The main purpose of them would be the rod for tripping a ball dump. I think.
I've never seen a hole in the front of a modern for this purpose. At least not on my moderns.
In the diagram that came with them, one sketch looks like he might be adjusting a nail. I pulled one of the pens apart, and the inside of the top of the pen fit over a nail and did work for bending it. Then when I pulled it off, 2 metal sleeves fell out and dropped in one of my tulips. After I fished the parts out of the machine, I put it back together. So my thought of it being for this is wrong. Can't figure out what the piece that pushes out the top is used for. In the set are 6 black pens, and 5 blue. The only difference is on the black ones, the piece that pushes out can be locked in place. The blue one pushes out, but springs back into the pen when released.
Anyone know anything about these?
They are very heavy and good quality. The cases are nice. Something that an expensive pen set would come in. Suede on the inside and out.

I was looking at the top left diagram again. Looks like he's pushing the end of the pen against a ball. Just tried it. Its magnetized. Probably checking the clearance between nails.

so they sent you the picture, not the actual paper?

Nothing came with the pens.
The photo was actually part of the ad on YJA. Not a high resolution photo.
Just lifted the padding in the boxes. Nothing there either.

6 or 7 of mine have the ball dump hole in the front..

Can't help you with what that's for. I've seen some really cool tool sets on YJA with a good assortment of items. Feeler gauges, hammers, nail bending tools, and a few sets with about 20 or so pachinko balls mounted on rods in a set. I've always wondered why you'd need that many different sized ( I'm guessing) ball gauges...
