    Default fastbilly1 is new!

Hello fastbilly1, what brings you to PachiTalk
I found the site years ago, bookmarked it for future reading, and promptly forgot about it. Then when a friend purchased a couple machines off of Craigslist and Ebay, a Nishijin Model A that was “broken beyond repair” found its way to my workshop. I knew very little about the machine, and pachinkos in general, but have worked on arcade games for many years. So when looking for help on how to repair the machine I found Pachitalk again. And now I have read the vast majority of the vintage machine section.

How about you tell us a bit about yourself, fastbilly1.
I am the promoter and occasional writer for Retrogaming with Racketboy. And thanks to that, I am a huge fan of old videogames and arcade games. I was introduced to Pachinko a long time ago by my uncle, who I found out recently was given the machine by my father. Pachinko is almost everything I want out of pinball and more than I ever wanted out of a slot machine. And after years of buying and selling arcade games, pachinko is a nice sized alternative that I shamefully stopped looking into years ago (they actually fit in my car!). I like my Pachinko machines how I like my Pinball tables, mechanical through and through.

Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself!
And thank you for the knowledge.

Ironically my recent study of pachinko led me to look into its history and I found bagatelle. English Bagatelle is a game I always wanted to play as a child at a friend of my fathers workshops. I had completely forgot about it. Now I am trying to find a table in the USA. I will probably just have to make my own, but that’s ok to.

I do have one parting story that I think yall will get a kick out of. A couple days ago I was watching one of my nieces, who is in her terrible twos, and was pitching a fit. Well the machine was in a playable state (extra ball hopper and lights were not working and it wasnt clean) so I sat her down in front of it and shot a few balls. She moved my hand and started playing. See now asks for the "ball game." Ofcourse her father, my older brother, was pissed at me...

    Thanks Dattia and Hanabi.

Yeah, finding an English Bagatelle table will probably be impossible. I can find dozens of Childrens Bagatelle tables though...Its ok, I am in talks with the Chester Bagatelle league for dimensions of their tables. It doesnt seem like that much work. Thank you for looking.

Hi and welcome to PachiTalk, I have three English Bagatelles quite often see them at
car boot sales in the U.K. for around $10.
If we are talking about the same thing.
I will have to stick a photo up.

Hmm, I should have explained this earlier, sorry all. Lack of foresight on my end.

Childrens Bagatelle, the small ones with pins, is a derivative of English Bagatelle. English Bagatelle is similar to Billards. It uses a special table that is 7-10 feet long and 2-4 feet wide that has one square end and one rounded end. You shoot from the square end and the rounded end has several holes you have to score into. Here is an image of a small table.
