Default Replacing the Playing Field on a Vintage Pachinko

I decided to replace the playing field on one of my vintage pachinkos. I call it Alpine, it's the pachinko which has skiers as the main attraction. I have two of these and both of them have severe water stains. I came up with the idea to try the car wrap material from reading other member's threads. I disassembled the machine, removed all the features and nails from the playing field, using a scanner I scan the old playing field, sanded off the old background and am fixing to attempt to apply the new one. I found a company locally that would print the background for me if I did the artwork for around $25.00 each, I had them print me two and if this one comes out well, then I'll go ahead and do the other one. I think the wrap came out very well and the company still has the artwork, if anybody wants that particular pattern then you can contact them. They said that they would print more of them. As I do other patterns for other machines, I'll let them have the patterns so they can print them for any other members who want them. I hope to apply the wrap soon and start reassembling the machine. I'll let you know the progress.

Thats the right technique right there. Thats exactly what I'm working on right now.

I applied the wrap to the pachinko playing field. It went on fairly easy, with very little complications. I think I'm going to like this material because you can lift it up and realign it if you don't get it quite right. The adhesive doesn't become permanent until you apply pressure to it with the squeegee applicator that they gave me. The material is a little thicker than vinyl and the nail holes were hard to see. I had saved the old playing field clear cover I pulled off, it mostly came off in one piece. I lined up the cut outs and taped it in place, then used a small finishing nail to poke through where the nails and screw holes are to get the location. I hope to get started reassembling it soon, but my schedule has been kind of full.

Look mom the stains are gone! Well, I am done with the playing field and am starting on mechanism next. I think it came out very well and am very happy with it, I am looking forward to doing the other one. I am thinking that this is the only way to go for me, and as the funds become available, I will be replacing all my playing fields with stains or yellowing. I hope to have this one all together by the weekend and ready to play. Input welcome.

Actually, this is not the one I got from you. This is the one I already had. I haven't started on the one I got from you yet, it's next in line. I had 2 backgrounds printed. Whichever one looks the best is the one I'll keep, I'll probably resell the other one. My wife says it looks like a brand new machine.

    it looks new.

I don't get why a ski themed machine has fish in the back ground. Many vintage also have generic flowers. I think they used a similar background and changed the play field toys, (tulips, centers etc.)
On your next project maybe you can mesh the background with the theme more.
