    Default Pachinko Packing 101

after shipping a Pachi to Texas.. thought i would share my converted Bike box..

there has been lots of talk about shipping with a bike or tv box.. my problem is a bike box is way to long and way to thin for my liking.. so after a bit of trial and error hear is a sure fire way to get it done..

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

start with a standard bike box.. if ya have a choice get one from a Mt Bike (they seem a bit shorter and a bit longer)
    Bike to Pachinko box (2).jpg

cut both ends at the stapels (from top to bottom)
    Bike to Pachinko box (3).jpg

Lay it out flat and pull the bottom apart..(dont cut the bottom)
    Bike to Pachinko box (4).jpg

this way u get 2 equal halfs
    Bike to Pachinko box (5).jpg

measure out 38" and cut the top and bottom flaps.(do this on both half)

now make a fold at the 38" line
    Bike to Pachinko box (8).jpg

then use tape to put the two halfs back together..

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the point in this is to make the box shorter in lenght and wider.. alowing for more room to make 2" space for packing and insurance..

Hope this helps get your Pachi shipped safe and save ya a buck or two

    hey mopar.

last 3 times I shipped with bicycle boxes, I just stuck the pachinko in on its side and cut the box vertically where it was too long, allowing for making flaps, of course.

advantage of this way is that I keep the strong staples and original structure of the box.

disadvantage is that when you add the important sub-boxes over the trays for protection, the sides bulge a little from the width.

do you have an industrial stapler? I was thinking it would be good to have one, for as much shipping as I do

no i dont have an industrial stapler... just a bunch of packing tape.. by puting it in there and makeing the box buldge im worried if it just simply fell over that buldge point is going to be the first to hit... by redesigning the box in this mannor there is 2 or more inches of space in every direction..

final pic boxed and ready for shipping
