    That is a beautiful lily...

I love water lilies, but mine never seem to do too well...

Speaking of ponds, my daughter rescued some Frog spawn from our pond a while back as our Koi were intent on eating it, and she tells me they are doing well in a bucket

Hopefully when they have grown we can reintroduce them back to the pond?? or maybe the fish will try eating them again??

Might be best to wait til they are frogs and just let them hop off into the rockery??

Yes I suppose so, but a couple of years ago there was an epidermic amongst the frogs in England and they were dying off, it was so severe that they set up a 'frog watch' scheme at the time and if anyone had seen ANY frog at all in their gardens you were supposed to register the sighting

So since then, my daughter has given the frogs a bit extra care, although the frog population seems to be back to normal again at the moment

Wow! It's been a month already!! I've been pre-occupied building a new pond. This bloom just opened up today. To celebrate, I sent the girls to to pick up some new fish.

Bought 2 more lilies on Monday. The first one bloomed yesterday. Also some pictures of our Mimosa (the tree not the cocktail!)

All credit for all pictures goes to my daughter who is much better at taking photos than I am!

    Default Germination!

Started 3 Lotus seeds on Thursday (6/3) night. Here is the first of 3 breaking through it's shell. Not much to look at yet, but kind of exciting!

Sounds tasty! Looks like I'll be having lots of seeds, as the other 2 have cracked and are sending out shoots.

    Default Lotus Update!

A couple pics of them in their cups yesterday, and their pots today. The pots look like washtubs because they are... shhhhhhh... only $5 at Target!

Second floating leaf just hitting the surface. Can't wait for aerial leaves and flowers, but probably won't bloom until next year.

They're partly buried in the ground, behind the pond. I think once they're big it should look pretty cool.

I sure hope I get a new pachinko machine soon, so I have something pachi related to talk about!!
