    Hey Montana
Before I saw your reply, I hooked it up using the chart on the 2nd page of instructions. I connected the blue/white pair to CN7 (blue), red/gray pair to CN5 (red), and the gray/white pair to CN3 (gray).
The upper right # is keeping track of the spins, then went into bonus. The upper left # kept track of the stages. While in bonus, the upper right # was showing 0, then would show 1, then back to 0. Didn't get a light show when in bonus. Do you think if I swap the gray/white pair from CN3 (gray), to CN6 (orange), that will straighten it out?
In the photo, it does show using CN6 and not CN3. Problem with the photo, it shows 3 pairs all white/red, and one pair - white/white going to CN4 (yellow). I think this sounds more confusing than it is.

Your setup on the machine should be:

Red plug (CN5) is fever (big bonus aka bonus1) - top left on the counter
Yellow plug (CN6) is chance/bonusround (aka bonus 2 usually after bonus 1)
Blue plug (CN7) is start pocket (spins) - top right on the counter

The other plugs (CN3 etc.) are useless (at least for us)...

I connected the blue/white pair to CN7 (blue)
    Correct!

    red/gray pair to CN5 (red)
should go to CN 6 (yellow)!

    gray/white pair to CN3 (gray)
    should go to CN5 (red).

    Hey Montana
This morning (before I saw your latest post), I swapped the gray/white pair from CN3 (gray) to CN6 (orange). Turned on the machine. Still showing 29 in the upper left, which is the stage I was at when the bonus round ended last night. The counter was showing the spins, starting at 1 like it should. Then went into bonus. Counter went into light show like it should. The stages I were advancing in were being added on to 29 instead of starting from 0. 1 was 30, 2 was 32, etc.
I'll swap the pairs on CN5 and CN3 and that will have me set up the way you show.
    Maybe that will do it.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hey Dennis
Since I swapped the connectors like Montana showed, I'm thinking, maybe I had it right earlier. Before, the top left # was increasing everytyime I advanced a stage. It also seemed to be registering on the bar graph. I believe it was showing one bar for every 10 stages. On Captain Robert every level is about 5 or 6 stages. Then the next time I go into bonus, the stages add on to what was already there. With my other BC on jaws, the # increases with every advance in level. The way it is now, it only advances one and doesn't increase until you lose and then go into bonus again. So no matter how many levels or stages you advance, the # stays the same. Also before, the light show would change with what was happening on the screen. The way it is now, I get a light show, but stays a constant pattern.
    What do you think?

My Jaws is different, but I think most machines are using the same 3 connection ports: CN5, CN6, and CN7. I was thinking all battle counters had their wiring color coded the same, but now I'm thinking maybe not.

The top left number is bonuses only, not rounds during a bonus. I believe the other two numbers below that are bonuses over the last two days. The graph is supposed to be an indication of how many spins you have between bonuses.

    Thanks Compirate.
Guess I have it connected the way it should be.
The changes of the light show before and not now, still has me confused.

    Mike,

Certain connections make the battle counter act differently, depending on how the manufacturer wants the bonuses to be collected and displayed. The jaws may be a little more active (more flashing)... is that what is happening ?

    MY PERSONAL PREFERENCE BELOW

At the and of a reel spin
    = increment counter
At Big Bonus = lots of flashy lights or Big Bonus Display
During Battle/HP mode = light flashing back and forth until battle mode ends, or you get another big bonus.

With this setup you will get big bonuses and HP bonuses counted separately. and the Spin count gets reset if either one of those things happens.

Some setups will fire of a big bonus, just before you actually get a big bonus, or when you enter step up just before a bonus (i think)

I have translated (poorly) some of my battle counter manuals, and this is the best I can come up with.

That is why I LOVE the guides you sent me, as they are specifically written for the indicated machines. Let's hope that the person who wrote them knew what they were talking about

AGAIN - I am not an expert, this is just my experience and preference, others PLEASE chime in (I know you will).

One last thought, you can make the battle counters do all kinds of crazy things, but for home use, I like to keep it simple. They really are just "toys" for home use anyway.

When I have played in Parlors, I pick a machine to play by looking at how the nails are bent, and my examining the BC stats to see when it last paid off (how many days ago) how many spins went by, how many pocket hits have been scored etc. etc. etc.

I was getting the flashy light shows, like the one on Jaws, before I swapped the connections, but I think its hooked up the way its supposed to be now. Maybe later on I might experiment with moving a couple of the connections. Hopefully, without doing any damage.
I sent a letter to Japamart asking them to get in touch with the seller I got my units from. Asked to see if he could send more instruction sheets for different frames. Hoping I get a response.
Noticed while I was on the site, he has the same unit up for sale, and also 2 others. Has one for about 4850 yen that looks really nice. If I needed another one, I would buy it.

    Mike,

I agree that you are hooked up right now The cells in my Big Bang "Bonus" more that I would like on the BCs, I will read more and figure that out. Once I do, I'll pass that info onto you (unless you beat me to it).

Do you think the Japamart Data Counters are here in the states already?

Ok need some help from you fine Pachi-folks. My counter came in today and unfortunately was not accompanied by a set of directions but I have tried to take photos of everything so you may come to my aid!

Pics are as follows: Back of the Fuji Ovalone frame BC connector area, all the plug ends on the BC harness. For the trio of small plugs that match the shape of the frame pinouts I noted colors...so on to the photos:

I hate to tell you, but I think thats for pachislo. I don't see any connectors that are the right colors for pachinko, and that last pic, the multi pin female connector facing the camera looks like the connector for pachislo. Do you have a link for the auction it was bought from?

The yellow and red wires on the large 6 pin connector are power (24vac)

Well I think I got it right this time... 2 more inbound. I think I am going to try and get a different one for each frame - not very parlor-esque, but the variety of designs and lights will be fun during fevers.
