    Default Rita is still A - O - K ! ! !

We all know the first place to go when looking to purchase a new pachi... don't we?
Well, for me it's one click of the favorites menu to BlueHotaru.com.
So far Rita has supplied me with 4 pachislo's, all in wonderful condition...
and 1 in far less than appealing condition.

Prior to the Easter holiday I bit on a King Kong pachislo by Bisty.
It was pretty much an impulse buy, due to a dry spell on some titles I've been hoping to see make the boatride to the "States".
I had sent Rita a pm asking if she expected any King Kong's on the next shipment.
She didn't have any info at the time, but shortly replied...
She was informed by her supplier that they were concerned with the durability of Bisty machines & didn't intend on shipping any.

...and that was that, or so I thought.

Approximately 2 weeks later I received an email informing me the King Kong was available on the Blue Hotaru site.
Apparently another supplier had no issues with importing the title & they were now in stock.
    ~I ordered,
    ~received PayPal confirmation,
    ~received tracking # by email,
    ~then... it was delivered!

After unpacking I discovered a few broken pieces,
then some extensive wear & some odd plastic clips glued to the bellyglass.
It seemed someone disliked these clips there as much as I, because they were partially melted.
After setting it up to inspect it's functionality, I discovered a few technical issues.

I immediately emailed Rita through her site; and as I photograph all my "unboxings", I included the pix to illustrate my concerns.
Rita was very apologetic & issued a call-tag for the tattered Kong to be picked up.
After approximately a week UPS arrived with a new package.
I was delighted with a new King Kong in excellent cosmetic condition!
After I and TikiKiki played a bit over an hours worth with our new addition,
we were overjoyed with the end result of the entire sale.

We all collect these machines; both pachislo & pachinko, with the knowledge
that they spend the first few months of their lives in constant use by the public.
They get hit, smacked, scratched, cracked, spilled on, smoked on... abused.
The odds of purchasing a pachi in "true" mint condition are practically slim to none.
I have rarely received a machine in condition I would deem necessary to return to the vendor.
As a matter of fact, this is only the second occasion.
The first time it was due to excessive key gouges in the reelglass of my Fever Ghost,
I had asked the vendor if he could sell me a replacement glass. His answer was "No".
According to him he had several Fever Ghost machines available but wouldn't "scrap" one to satisfy a customer.
I guess it never occurred to him to swap out a better one for the he sent me.
They are currently out of business.

At the time I didn't feel right about requesting a replacement from Rita,
but I wasn't content with the machine I had received.
She was very understanding and made every effort to retrieve & replace the damaged product.

BlueHotaru.com isn't just a vendor, they are collector's as well.
They understand what you expect in a pachi, because they expect they same for themselves.
Thank you; once again Rita, for encouraging my vice.
I have nothing but positive remarks for Blue Hotaru & I'm looking forward to your next shipment.

btw... did I mention she also price-matched a competitor "after" the point of sale & beat the price by $20USD?
    well... she did
