Default Re: Death Star Weapon Control Panel

I have access to purchase an actual manufacturer's build copy of the device used as the Death Star Ignition panel.

My basis for the claim dates to the Premiere of "A New Hope".

A group of fellow employees at WIBW-TV Topeka, Kansas went to see the film when it first opened. All of use were involved in News, programming and commercial production at the TV station. We all burst into cheers and laughter when we saw the low-angle close-up of the operator move the T-lever to initiate the Death Star weapon. It was an exact duplicate of the General Electric 3 Mix/Effect bank Video switcher we used at the TV station!

    Fast-forward two years.

I got a job at WDAF-TV in Kansas City, Missouri where, amazingly enough, the station also had the same make and model General Electric Video Switcher!

Shortly thereafter, General Electric decided to get out of the video production business. There are a very few of these limited-numbered analog NTSC switchers around. I suspect that GE only built around 50-75 of them. Most are in storage or have been scrapped.

Would anyone be interested in obtaining this unit?

(And yes, I know that this thread is at least 5 years old...)

    PM me.
