    Default adding a fan

    Hi very new to Pachislo's owner less than a few days Question is --> has anybody ever added a 12vdc fan to blow over the main board area?
    I am thinking of doing it as my reels get quite warm, and the Azteca machine keeps shutting down with a 105 error so i thought the heat may have something to do with it.
    Also i have thought about placing a add in the craiglist for a student who can make out what on the game.

    is your transformer getting too hot??

    it may be too small or ready to die!!!

    it shouldn't get very hot during regular play, but will get warmer during bonus rounds

    If i am not mistaken the transformer is on the door lower right bottom and it is not getting hot. It is getting hot in and around the reels and back where the main board is.
    I have only owned the machines a couple days and have figured out some things.
    The Best thing i have figured out is now my g/f will play for hours and so i can do whatever lol
    I have the Azteca unplugged until i can figure out what the error message means.
    And i leave the vintage gogo juggler running and when i hear a Error from upstairs i will run down there and clear the error or refill the hopper so Yea these machines are great and a lot of fun.
    I have about 1000 tokens and just ordered another 1100 so i can keep the hopper full and not get the HE error or the CO error.
    Also this evening i took apart the coin slot drop deal and cleaned it up real good.
    So far i am doing okay for not having a single door key on either machine or manual , the best thing is it keeps her happy until there is a error

    But yea i was thinking it would not be that difficult to add a 120mm 12vdc fan in there and imo wouldn't hurt.

    WELCOME!!!

    I don't think it would be a bad thing to do...I found a 5 year old thread on overheating!!

    Ventilation and overheating of the machines. What me worry??

    Nice read thanks, i just got thinking that maybe the heat i felt on the reels was from the lights around that area.
    If i were to mod the case with a fan it would be something larger than a pancake fan.
    the bigger ones like 120mm or so are quieter and don't have the high pitch sound as the pancake.
    I do see a couple unused headers so i will get the multimeter and see what being put out.
    And later today i will try to take a picture of the error message on the Azteca lcd display to show the error message.

    Thanks for all the welcomes guys,
    Yea the girlfriend is downstairs playing at this moment , she was going to go to bed but i was messing around with the Azteca machine and kept getting a i5 error with language i couldn't understand so i cleaned the contacts where the hopper plugs into the power and thought i would start there, well that didn't help so then i decided to just turn it on and let it sit for a half hour or so.
    I did this because it will power up and show the lcd video and lights all work but after putting in the coins the reel would only turn like a half a turn and then it would go into the error.
    Well after letting it sit just running we tried it again and shazam it works for a long time until she hit three 7's and went through the bonus stage and then got a Challenge score of 283 after that i could not get it to accept coins or bring up the menu so I turned it off and got the main screen back up and now letting it sit again. I think maybe either the power supply or transformer is weak or about to go but not sure yet.

    Well that is a big problem there because i bought both machines for $140.00 came with about 1000+ tokens and the Azteca has had the whole key deal taken out, I will provide a picture of the machine and if you see the Dark spot where the key would go then that's the hole with nothing in it
    also i will provide the error message and from the Tech area i was told it meant a "communication" error. also i was told to unplug all the wires one at a time and replug them back. so i am going to try that method tomorrow.
    also is a picture of the power supply now what all of the buttons are suppose to do there ?? I just do the key to On then power down then power up and turn the reset Off. still working at figuring it out slowly

    Here's what the switches are for..Off is usually the preferred position for these switches..

    Two switches on the power supply:
    - One requires a soft reset at the end of a bonus.
    - The other pays out all tokens at the end of a bonus.

    For these switches in most cases off is in the down or right position. The symbols for off and on are:

    無 = off

    有 = on

    Thanks for the information, I did try to unplug all the connections and replug them but that didn't work, the machine will sometimes run for 5 min or 15 min or 2 min then come up with that same Error message
    i5 error. no clue what to do next i think the psu must be week but that's just a gess.
