First question is where would I find the factory volume control and second question is what is the little black 3 way nob on the lower left corner in the back do?

is it a knob or a pushbutton switch? If a switch, it's the hard reset button.

where would I find the factory volume control

The factory volume control is under the large clear plastic cover on the upper right section of the machine. Usually it is painted with yellow paint. You may need to remove the cover to turn it, although I adjusted mine with a really thin screw driver.

It's a knob that has 3 positions.

Thanks on the volume control. it goes from loud to almost can't hear it in 1 click lol. I will leave it quiet for now but will need to get a better adjustable setup so there is more adjustment.

It either has to do with how hard the shooter shoots, or how sensitive the touch control is.

The same board is used in the Sanyo 'Red Stream' frame (for which I have the Japanese manual for), and there's a paragraph in there explaining what it is for.

I'm way too tired to attempt a full translation of it right now (been working too many long shifts over the holiday weekend), but from the few kanji I recognise it does appear to be for controlling the strength of the ball shooter.

Very good to know. As I said I have it set to the middle and it seems to work great. I will be installing it in the wall this week some time and it should fit pretty good in the spot I have. I measured the hole for the fish tank and it is the same as the width of the game so that is good. I will have to make the hole taller but that should not be a problem and the best parts is there is an outlet behind it so no wires running all over the place. I will post some pics when I am done for sure.
