Default Bruce Lee Not Firing Ball out of Firing Mechanism

    Hi.

The firing mechanism will not shoot a ball on the Takao Bruce Lee machine that I have (red and orange machine). I've emptied the balls out of it to make sure it's not jammed and reinserted balls, but turning the knob doesn't do anything.

Can anyone suggest what might be wrong or how I can fix it?

Thank you very much in advance.

something simple is to make sure u have enought balls in the top hopper... or that the sensor in the top hopper is working.. not enought balls or a bad / diry sensor will shut down the shooter...

    hope its something easy

Check the dongle to make sure it hasn't been unplugged.

A few times I've panicked thinking a machine isn't working only to find there was no dongle fitted.

Thank you very much for the responses, but I'm a little bit confused. What is the dongle? I've checked in the back of the machine right behind the shooter, and it looks like all three connectors are connected. I've also checked throughout the machine, and it doesn't look like there are any wires not connected.

I have photos that I can upload tomorrow, but there nothing to really show other than what looks like good connections.

Is there anything inside the shooter that could have come undone? Should I unscrew the four screw surrounding the shooter and take it apart to review?

Lastly, how do I verify that the sensor in the top hopper is working? There are definitely plenty of balls in the hopper and flowing through the system. I've also manually put balls into the shooter mechanism, but it just does not fire or snap when the shooter is turned.

    Thanks.

just to check, you are touching the silver ring on the knob base? some of the shooters require you to ground to that ring. if that's not the case, then checking for the dongle being lose (looks like an old printer plug) in back, is a common reason. this fakes the machine into thinking that it's plugged into the computers in the parlor.

I think this is how the back of your machine may look, if it does then check where it says 'CR bypass' in the pic...a dongle can look like a big old printer plug or it might just look like a metal thing with a few capacitors hot glued to it...

Hope that helps you find the dongle!!

I saw this parallel port thing you're talking about on the right side of the machine if viewing from the back, but the clips were loose and nothing was floating around or hanging near it. Is something supposed to be plugged into that "parallel port?" Thanks.

While some machines are modified so they don't need a dongle (sometimes you may find a hole melted through a cover on the back so that something could be soldered to make the machine shoot without a dongle) Most CR machines we get do need a dongle to shoot..it will plug into the 'parallel port' type connector on the back...

I can't find any dongle pics to post right now..but they can look like a big plastic plug or just a metal thing with things sticking out of it..

If you have other pachinkos find and take the dongle from one of them and put it in this one..That the fastest way to see if that is the problem!!

    SOLVED!!!

Thank you to all of you. The dongle was missing and was located in a box of pachinko balls. I was diagnosing this problem for my father (in another state and after he had built a wood case around it) with all of you input, and you solved it for me.

Thank you for the multiple responses and the quick fix. It's a pleasure to be back on the site.
