The epoxy worked. i needed something to bond with the original piece because there wasn't enough surface area. I took just a heavy bond of paper, which gave me the thickness I needed, cut it in the shape I wanted and expoxied it to the main stem. Then after drying, cut it to shape as well as a small slit for it to slide on. Works perfectly. Thanks to all
