    Default Taiyo Challenge Ball

Latest acquisition. Well almost, scheduled to be here Friday. Works as it should and though the bottom front is dusty, the playfield is very clean and so is the inside.
Lower left and right pockets immediately pay out one coin. Top center and bottom center activate bank/bonus mode which lets you light up additional numbers to make a completion or save for the next game. It pays out a max of 10. In the upper right is a readout displaying number of coins to be paid out. In this pic all numbers are lit (a few bulbs are out) so an "E" is displayed which means 10.
Unfortunately there are a few missing parts. The coin strip has been removed by the owner and he is now trying to locate it to ship it to me. If not, there is a way to make an exact replica using another strip so I am pursuing that right now. If that works out I will document that process on here. It's basically the process Vintage Pachinko uses. My last option is to have a machine shop make a metal one using my existing Taiyo's as a template.
Like many other of these machines it is also missing the cover that goes over the 16 pockets. But I have a picture of one so I can create one and put it on plexi thanks to Lt's and Dalton's ingenuity. It also needs a new coin rejector but that is something that can't be seen and has no impact on game play. Right now there is a plexi chute that coins go thru on way to coin tube. See pic.
Now the arrival of this machine means an L-man Power Flash has to go...

A very nice looking machine. It is almost a match for the one Eddie showed awhile back. Maybe he can help with parts or pictures. I know you will take the time and effort to restore it to as original condition as possible. Congratulations.

Thanks LT and thanks for your help. I think ole Eddie's plastics have a richer color to them. I'll see if mine are faded or just discolored due to bromine in which case I'll do the retrobright thing. In any case a good cleaning and polishing will improve them quite a bit. Eddie and I are going to try and work something when I get back I town. Just depends on if his part is riveted or screwed on.
