    Default New addition to the Game Room

    We just added a maneki neko (Lucky cat) to our game room. It has adopted the top of our soda bar.

    Kiai found and sent it for my wife's birthday. Hope I get lucky.

    There is a Chinese carryout place near my work that has a bunch of those cats for sale.
    I always check them out when I go in there, but have never thought to buy one.

    I've seen those in the Chinese Supermarket that I go to sometimes

    some of them have a moving / waving paw

    Maybe I need to buy one or two

    So are they Chinese or Japanese? One of our Japanese exchange students gave us a small stuffed one during his stay; but they cover the shop windows in any Chinatown you visit.
