Default C-Las-Tulip single shot conversion aquisition w/extra dust

    Hi Everyone,

Saved another machine from the depths of someones basement.

This is one that Jeff just posted on CL.

    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/crai...50-denver.html

I always seem to appreciate machines more when you meet the original owners that bought them in Japan.

This fella bought this one in the early 70's while stationed in Okinawa Japan with the Marines. He told me he bought it because his buddies said "he had to have one".

He told me he never played it since he brought it state side so its been sitting for 35 plus years.

It has a "Super Tulip" in the center called C-Las-Tulip. Not sure what that means but I like the 50's/60's style typeface they used.

The playfield graphics are fair. A little faded with slight water staining but pretty good original condition overall.

The only downside is the front feed tray is cracked and missing part of the lip on the left. Should be an easy fix. It still has quite the collection of dust in the tray.

Here's the link to the album I created for it but I'll attach a few thumbnails below to wet your appetite.

    Enjoy!!

that's a nice model A conversion. I like the extra colorful spinners on the front. my las vegas is very plain.

did the guy say how much it cost back in the 70s? just curious.

uncle sam shipped a lot of pachinko's home, it seems. that's how lots of machines came back from japan. lucky us that we are near the west coast, where they landed

I asked him and he couldnt remember. In fact he had no idea.

He had a little trouble letting it go. I could see it in his eyes. He must have had alot of memories from back in those days going thru his head at that moment.

He asked me what I thought it was worth and I told him between $50 and $100 for this particular model. I think he had some "sentimental value" in mind and I almost thought he was going to jack the price up on me but he didnt.

    Gordon,

That is a great addition to your collection! Somehow I knew when I posted that ad that you would end up getting "it". I'm sure it will look like new when you get done cleaning and restoring it.

    Congrats!

    Thanks Jeff.

I'll leave the playfield alone on this one but it will be torn down all the way.

Need to reconstruct the front tray but thats no big deal. Electrical was never used by the owner so that will be added.

Out of the 30+ vintages I have its ones like these that seem to get my attention most.

Its pretty typical for a collector to enjoy the interaction with the seller when getting the item as much as owning the item itself. By far better than the typical ebay purchase.
