    Default Unexpected Sankyo Score

Hello everyone, Came across this machine unexpectedly today at an antique store...and of course now it is at the house

It is really clean and seems to work pretty good, however I'm not sure it is releasing jackpot hits as it is supposed to (possibly jamming?). Not sure if the machine is a bit dirty inside, needs more balls to operate properly, or if something is missing / broken.

If anyone has become familiar with this model, is the jackpot release a common problem?

Wow! That's a very clean looking 'B' model vintage!! Excellent score!

Regarding the jackpot payout, it looks like you need more balls in the upper jackpot hopper to start with. Also, there are a lot of winning balls accumulated in the middle of the machine where they enter the jackpot payout seesaw, so you might have a ball jam as a result. You might need to drain the balls from the machine and then gently turn it on it's side to dislodge the balls in that area.

If these suggestions do not resolve your issue, then please post some close up photos of the back and we can probably help you further.

    Good luck!

The mechanics on this machine are consistent with a 'B' model design. The model classification is not necessarily brand specific. I restored a Sankyo with model 'A' mechanics on the back, and a Okamuryuki with model 'B' mechanics.

    I say Model 'A', Model 'B', Model 'C'

You say Type 'A', Type 'B', Type 'C'

I think we are talking about the same thing.

I suppose all moderns are considered 'C's?

    Nice looking machine.

You should definitely remove all the balls inside.

It also needs more balls to depress lever in top tray. It may be holding up payouts as it thinks its empty.

Do the wings in the centerpiece move or fold up when you get a ball in there?

Two positions for the wings, when a ball goes into the main center slot.

Trying to empty the balls as suggested...bit can't quite figure out how some of them are supposed to get out of there.

I'll give it a try in the morning and give an update later on. Thanks for all the help so far.

Mopar's video will probably help you better understand how your machine works:

neat machine... looks like jacksje4 has got ya covered..

the best advise is to get every single ball out of the machine... period.. but dont force anything while your doing it..

the more i look at tyour pic the worse that jam looks..

take your time and u will be one with your vintage soon

i would guess that the reason the jam started is lack of balls in the top hopper.. and someone kept on playing it

Well, was eventually able to remove all the balls by picking up the machine and rolling the balls around so that they ended up in positions where I could get them out by manipulating the levers and switches. Too many balls occupying a small space I guess.

Also in the process, ended up removing one of the back panels just to find out that two balls are to stay inside the machine permanently (at the tilting mechanism for payout)...left those in there.

After loading the balls back up, it works like a charm! Just need to be careful not to let the top tray get low of balls.

    Thank you everyone.
