Default Old pachinko machine, new to the hobby

This machine was given to me back in the 80's when I was a kid. It never really worked right and now there must be a ball jammed somewhere because when you get it in the win slots the just back up and the balls pour out the back.

I guess I should take it apart and see what I can find. Here's a couple pics

Nishijins are the most common makers games for vintages it seems. Give us a good clear picture of that center feature and those two lower outer pockets, they look unique - thus interesting

that's a nice machine to start with. the cell (the face) looks very clean, without water stains. as compirate mentioned, there are some interesting looking pockets on either side at the bottom. how do those work?

do you recall what was wrong with it before?

these machines, nishijin B's we call them, are quite common and usually pretty reliable. maybe just some cleaning a track or pivot point that is causing the balls to stick

Here's a big close-up. The 3 orange ones open their wings when you get a ball in, then they are easier the next time. The other two let ball in from the tops or sides.

I will dig into the back of the old girl and see what I can find. Its been years since I played with it. At least I'm in the right spot if I get in trouble.

I wired the automotive 12V lights to run off a lantern flashlight battery. Last time I tried to play it when the balls wentin those orange wings, they would just back - up, I need to take it apart.

That is a really nice looking machine!!! Welcome to the addiction.

Check the jackpot payout seesaw to make sure that it is in the upright position (like the one in the photo). This will allow it to accept wining balls and start the payout. Many times when a machine is moved the seesaw will drop into the down position and balls will get trapped in the machine.

Also make sure you have plenty of balls in the upper jackpot payout hopper (at least 100-200). Too few balls will halt the payout process.

    I hope this helps.

Well I took the old girl apart as far as I dare and didn't see anything. I think the offending part was this horizintal rod was not behind the dog on the plastic lever ( see pic ) Not sure if that would affect play ?

Anyway the pachinko gods must be smiling on me because the old girl works and makes a nice ding ding sound when it pays out.

I noticed those to pay windows beside the tulips , open the tulips back up when you get a ball in there, plus it pays out.

I even got the lights working. I'm missing a bulb below the orange light ( pink one ) but I'm not sure what kind of bulb it needs.

That rod is supposed to be to the right of that pin. It prevents the ball shooter feed mechanism from feeding another ball if the overflow tray in the front is full.

    congrats

as far as a light bulb u can get one at any local radio shack or most hardwear stores.. take one with ya and tell the guy u need one for a 9 volt battery or what ever voltage your using for power..

i usualy run a lower voltage light bulb with a 12 volt wall wart... this gets me a nice bright light when a jackpot is paid.. this will end up buring the bulb out quickly but i like having a bright bulb...
