Default Model 'A' Machine with Bowling Theme (Boston Area)

There has been interest and discussion on PT recently regarding the Bowling themed machine, so I thought I would post this link in case anyone wanted to add one to their collection.

What does the bowling theme mean? Is there something special about the main attraction? Braintree isn't too far away from me and Mopar says everyone ought to own an "A", LOL!
The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock on the door.

the center jackpot is in the form of a bowling ally

little pins and all... i have not ever seen one in person but i doubt a ball knocks over the pins... but who knows

The main attraction has a minature bowling alley. When a ball lands in the chute just above the alley, it drops into the alley and rolls down the lane to hit the pins (which are suspended from the top of the alley). There are three pockets in the center feature: one in the center and one on each side of the pins. A ball in the center pocket behind the pins (Strike!) will pay a jackpot and open the tulips. A ball in either side pocket (gutter ball) will only pay a jackpot. The jackpot light also flashes to illuminate the alley when any jackpot is scored.

I agree with Mopar that every vintage collector should own at least one Model A machine. They are a lot of fun and since they recycle the losing balls back into play, you do not need to refill the upper jackpot payout hopper nearly as much as a Model B or C.
