Babel mystery light

I have owned a Babel for 6 years now and something I noticed soon after I got it is that on the left side of the reels right above the 3 medals symbol there is a graphic of a dragon and when you open the door and look behind that dragon, it has its own light bulb, and if you shine a flashlight in that hole and look on the other side, the dragons eye lights up perfectly. I have never seen the machine light that bulb. There is an easy way to mod it so that light is on most all the time, just use 2 strips of aluminum foil to let that bulb leach off the power from the bulb below it. Does anyone know what that dragons eye is supposed to mean and has anyone seen their machine light it on its own?

I have a Rai Rai Goku and the left side has a monkey that lights up in bonuses

there is a monkey with a crown on the other side that lights up when you get a bonus with different symbols.
