Default Pachislo, Pachinko Appearance Fixes (scratch and dent, too!)

There are a lot of ways to fix up a machine that has had some scratches or whatever done to it. You can often just use model paint to fix a scratch, for example. Think we need a topic to cover ideas from everyone of ways to make a less than perfect machine look great again.

For example, I had an eraser sized white nick below the token insert on the DDK in the pink-painted area and fixed it with a pink-colored sticker that looks as if it came on the machine from the factory:

On my Thunderzone, there were several paint scratches along the right side of the round display which I attempted to fix with model paint. But, lights are meant to shine through this silver-colored plastic where I touched it up and it looked bad and dark whenever the lights were on. Chrome star stickers did the trick and they look great and as if they came from the factory that way. (The new TZ is still on the bench getting its clean up in this pic...)

any ideas on how to fix burn marks in plastic? I have a few on my Disco Queen around the ashtray.

There were a few other minor defects which I touched up, but I can't think of anything to fix the burns.

I also would like to know if it is save to pull out the pins on a pachinko? I have a semi-dead spinner I would like to remove and lubricate. Any ideas?

you could try to use something to fill in the burn marks and then paint over the filler

Sand the ash tray till the burns are gone, than sand with finer and finer paper till you are up to 600 or higher, than use Novus #3, than #2 last #1. Alway work 90% to what you done before.

The Nails are slow threaded on the ends in the wood. So pull slow with twist. Left is loose, Right is tight. Lub with a silly-cone and put in. Hammer slow and let it follow the threads that are there.

IMHO and have done as above.

I have used Model Paint also Car paint in the touch up sticks. They have a wider range of colors.

Near the top of my machine on the LED strip I have these shiny lines -------------------------- and bars and stuff, some of that has rubbed off, any suggestions to get it back and shiney?

If you're talking about a metallic looking strip, I've read a post or three that says you can find a similar replacement type deal at the auto part store....car pinstriping....maybe even paint, used with a stencil would work, to be sure it looks nice. Only prob is matching up the product to look the same (gold/silver chrome instead of metal flake type, etc.)

I'd have to redo the whole machine if i were to go that route.

Well, you didn't specify you wanted an EASY fix..... But if it's a machine you really enjoy, and plan to make the focal point of your collection, you may find that investing a bit of time and energy is worth it in the long run. I've been polishing up my herd, and finding areas that need some TLC...fixing as I go.

Here is the mod to put lines on the payout window. But that may not help you.

contact a couple of the dealers like stealth or 7 mile. those machines are everywhere!! you should be able to pick up a new lens from a junk machine dirt cheap. especially since they sell working for only 90.00.

*HUGS MY HANABI* I love my Hanabi Machine, so I think Ill give Milt a call next week (Since thats where i got it from) and see if I can get some replacement things.

Should I say something if it looks like my machine has had water in it? I mean it works fine, but the belly glass and some parts where the lights are look like that have old water stains...Nothing you cant see from the outside, but should i bring that to their attention?

that could be from many things (shipment, cleaning products, etc) and probably not milts fault but if it really bothered you, you could probably mention it to him and he would help you

If you want to talk to him directly, you will have to wait another week, he will be out of the office from the 20th-27th. We are going up to see them this Wed. and that is what Milt told me. His office manager Marie, might be able to help ya tho, that is who we are gonna see, when we pick up our machines.
